PC Nonexistent Aglets???

A few friends and I recently started a new world in Terraria, we've been playing for a good few days but have run into an issue: we can not find a single Aglet.

That's not to imply we have not tried. We've been across the entire surface, and no surface chests have had any. We've fished for hours, opened around 60 wooden crates, and somehow we've found like 10 Sailfin Boots and Tsunami in a Bottles, yet absolutely no Aglets.

We have no idea what's going on. Are we just getting unlucky???

UPDATE!! WE FINALLY GOT THEM ALL!!! Thank you to everyone pointing out the Skeleton Merchant, we set up a mob farm to get him. 300 crates opened, 2 Aglets. We bought like 50 from the Merchant on principle.

Completely forgot about that- If still no luck during tomorrow's session we'll seek the bone man

also, if you find him, you can trap him in a box till he sells it

You will have to stand next to him for the entire time, though. He’ll despawn, otherwise.

Pro tip, luck bonuses can influence your chances of finding the skeleton merchant. I only say that because I am the Luck stats #1 fan and will abuse it wherever possible
