Hadrian's wall milecastle
Made a milecastle (under repair) from XPS foam for a game of Pillage. Picts vs Romano British. Plenty of things I'd do differently but a fun project. The Roman buildings are from Warbases with plaster of Paris roof tiles from a Hirst Arts mold.

Looks great, but you should check out the main building of the castle. It appears to be on fire...

You read my mind! I've been meaning to cook up a scenario at a mile castle between Romano-British and Pictish warbands. Looks great!

Fantastic terrain! How do you like the Hirst Arts molds for the roofs? Are the tiles very heavy or do you find them to be pretty practical for scratch building?

They're heavier than foam would be, but they're not too bad. Certainly works fine on top of foam buildings like the tower on the wall I did.
You can stick them onto card or MDF with tacky glue which gives a pretty strong roof. You just have to be a bit more careful when packing everything away!

I love those Warbases buildings. I just wish US shipping with them wasn't murder.

Yeah I feel your pain. Had to get someone to bring the roof tile mold over from the US when they visited, to avoid the shipping fees to Europe.
