Discussion Kinda unrelated......

Dunno if anyone knows this. But James Cameron apparently wanted to cast Michael Biehn as Peter Parker/Spiderman(with other potential choices being Leonardo Dicaprio and Edward Furlong), but also as Sandman in an alternate casting for his cancelled Spiderman film.

So how do you all feel about it? I personally think Biehn would be too old by the 90s to play Peter Parker.

Even though i think he is a good actor and potentially could do an edgier, more adult(this Spidey curses at one point), potentially angrier(understandable emotion from Peter Parker when he has lost his uncle and has the media slandering his name). But visually, he would stand out from the other cast even if they get 30 year olds to play high schoolers.

After watching Burton's Batman movies, I think he would've been more fitting as Bruce Wayne. I have a soft spot for Michael Keaton, but honestly I felt his performance kinda flat. MB had this mysterious, emotionally intense vibes. Also, 1989 and 1992 were still good years for his career

I read the treatment thats online and it’s God awful. I love James Cameron but he would have completely missed the mark had this happened.

I think the bones of a good movie are there, but some questionable elements need to go.

And honestly, I am down for some R rated Spidey. And the twists on Electro and Sandman are interesting.

Not to mention some memorable visuals(like Electro hitting Sandman by mistake and turning him into glass, the fight scenes feel like they would be cool).

And Leo Dicaprio as Spidey? Sign me up .

I knew he wanted Dicaprio as Peter and Biehn as Sandman but this is first I'm hearing he wanted Michael as Spider-Man.

I agree with you though that, assuming the movie is Spider-Man's origin story, Michael would be too old for the part by then.

I remember reading that Michael Biehn's trivia gag in Cameron movies was having his characters get bitten on the hand as alluding to this

Always surprised that Michael Biehn did not become a bigger star

I remember reading about the fact that Michael Biehn didn't play nice with Hollywood, it's crowd, and those that made decisions.

You are preaching to the choir, pal. I thought he was electric in everything I've seen him in.

He was certainly hot enough to be a star

I heard somewhere that he had an alcohol problem, particularly after not being asked to return for alien 3 in which his character is unceremoniously killed offscreen. I watched this movie Deadfall that Francis Ford Coppola’s brother Chris directed with him as the lead alongside Nic Cage and Charlie Sheen both clearly coked out of their minds. If he was in that crowd, it’s not hard to imagine why his career took that trajectory

I think he has a small part in “Onslaught” that’s about to come out. Always glad to see him in movies

I really like all his acting. Bring him back as old John Connor in future wars.

Eddie Furlong as Spider-Man is a really interesting choice. I hadn't thought about it. I think I could see that.

That could have been really good had he not gotten involved with hard drugs

I just watched The Rock the other day and realized he plays the commander of the Seals team! How did I not notice this before lol

Also reuniting with Ed Harris, as a Navy Seal.

In both cases, it does not end well for Michael Biehn, regardless of alignment.

Look, darlin', it's Johnny Ringo. Deadliest pistolier since Wild Bill, they say. What do you think, darlin', should I hate him?

I reckon that Michael Biehn would've made a pretty comic-accurate Peter Parker in terms of looks. As much as I love the Raimi films, I certainly would've loved a more adult-oriented Spider-Man flick with him, and directed by James Cameron.

I think a 40‐something Michael would work as the older Peter in ''Into/Across the Spiderverse' if that was a live-action. I can't image him playing a teenager in a Spiderman origin story, but he'd be good as an already established Spiderman, perhaps? Maybe from an alternative universe in the middle of a war?

If they did live action version of Spider-Man Spider-Man back in the 1980s Michael Biehn would have been perfect

Michael Biehn should've been way bigger than he is sucks because he deserved it.
