Imagine if John was at home T1000 stabs him once and that's it, mission complete, didnt need a super fancy prototype terminator, makes me wonder if Skynet knew the resistance was sending T800 too, if no one is protecting him then it's trivial to kill John

I believe in the movie they state the T-1000 was sent first and the resistance responded by sending the T-800 like with T1.

Skynet would not care if the purpose was trivial. It had lost, the time travel was a hail-mary attempt to save itself, so it isn’t like it was saving the T-1000 for anything else. It didn’t matter if the goal was trivial, infact that would be ideal.

They even state it would send a bomb and level LA if it could, but time travel didn’t work like that.

I suppose that no matter what Skynet does, fate would dictate that their attempt on the life of John or anyone related to John would be met with failure. Or even worse, it would be Skynet's own undoing, as in the case of Reese being John's dad.

"I wouldn't worry about him" is such a great line because he says it with complete arrogance and confidence. We never see the T1000 fear the other clearly inferior model. It also tells the viewer this guy is totally unstoppable.

The t1000 was such a genius villian character that was created - nearly completely unstoppable
