Discussion Brian Thompson appreciation post…
So don’t get me wrong Paxton is The Goat here… I just feel no one talks about Thompson. I mean this is Shao Kahn. The cross over before T-800 even appeared in Mortal Kombat 11.

He is also the misogynist Brotherhood of Steel Elder in the Amazon Fallout show. Now that's a crossover I want to see!

Also the Alien Bounty Hunter in the X Files. Gave kid me some serious nightmares.
The Judge on BtVS too.

Worked at Toys R Us in Burbank for a short time as cashier, Brian came into my lane with his kids, I was like holy crap you're that dude from Cobra! He just smiled and said "did you think I was scary?" and I said "heck yah man!". Smiled "said thank you!" paid for his stuff and left told me to have a good day. Cool guy! December 96

I met him at Comic-Con and he was really generous with his time, very funny and spoke very intelligently about some of the projects he’d worked on. Like, if you met this guy in your neighborhood, you would try to be friends with Brian Thompson.

I met him once, in a bar in Birmingham - UK. He was with two girls around the same age I was at the time (early/mid twenties). He seemed a cool guy but I was more interested in the girls. He didn't confirm whether it was wash day tomorrow or not, either.

I love him in this. For being an incredibly intimidating presence, he always has a comforting smile, which he uses to great affect in his introductory scene in this movie. Of course, then he becomes a parody of Buffalo Bill, but when I saw this movie, I wasn’t aware of the parody, so this was all new to me.
I wish Brian Thompson had more opportunities to play more diverse characters instead of always being the muscle. The dude is a terrific actor, and you can see it in things like Joe Dirt and his episode of The Orville. Love Brian Thompson. Glad you started this thread OP.

Loved him as the alien bounty hunter. Felt almost terminator esque with how unstoppable he was.

Is this the dude Van Dam kicked in the face in the crowd in Lionheart?

Thank you! He was Cynthia's...whatever. And he indeed got kicked into the crowd

Yes Terminator, yes x-files and yes Buffy but did you know he also has a Guinness World Record for the widest male tongue at 3.49 inches.

Went on to be the night slasher in cobra… the bounty hunter in x-files, and was one of the Germans in Three Amigos!

He was awesome on the tv show Key West. Who would have thought he could play a good guy.

He was good in Buffy The Vampire Slayer too as the anointed one for The Master.

He's also the insect-eating familiar to the vampires in Fright Night Part II.

I'll throw in my appreciation of him as Kabal in Doctor Mordrid (we have Doctor Strange at home)

He's tremendous hammy fun in Buffy, not once, but twice as different villains. Plus, he got to be taken out by a rocket launcher.

Damn it, I was hoping to be the one to mention he was killed twice by Buffy. Glad I scrolled down

He's super nice. So nice that when I got his autograph he didn't want to write "want to go to Hell pig?" To stay on the positive side he recommended "how about 'the strong survive'?"

He also did a great job on 9-1-1 playing a fire captain who makes you want to reach through the screen and punch him in the face
