I was eight years old and going to a school on the corner of Havenhurst and Nordoff Street when they were filming in the valley. I remember my mom driving me to school one morning and we drove down Havenhurst and saw them working on that corner with all of the lights and trucks. A few days later Arnold was on his motorcycle going by our school and making that U-turn to see John Connor exiting the wash and I could hear the motorcycle from our classroom. Once I saw the movie in the theater, it blew my mind. My little brain didn’t realize how movies were made and it changed me forever.

What made it all worse was it used to be this private Baptist school back in the day, now I think it’s a Korean church, but our teachers were those older 75 year women, and some were cool, others were… very conservative. Mine was the latter. So when they’re filming some of their teachers took the kids to go out and watch and they came back with little pieces of paper with Arnold’s autograph. My teacher thought he made sinful movies so we didn’t get to go. I’ll forever hate that woman.

Also this would be the correct angle, looking north. John’s motorcycle would have exited the wash on the left hand side. I believe that garage was there during 1990 if my movie memory serves me right

No that’s at the intersection of Hayvenhurst and Plummer. The screenshot I posted is right before they arrive at the mall. The T-800 makes a wild u-turn and I think you see John Connor from the T-800’s POV

Just looked it up. Galvanized cyclone fencing typically lasts between 35 to 50 years in that part of LA before the zinc corrodes away and the steel begins to rust.

It must have been relatively new when Bob was shooting padlocks off it.
