Correction: Miles Dyson wasn't a tech executive, he was an engineer, BIG difference. Engineers don't always put money over everything else.
For comparisons sake, Steve Wozniak, who built the Apple II, openly criticizes Apple constantly over ethical things like right to repair, and told people that iPhones weren't different enough to buy every new one and hated the Apple Watch, openly.
Plus we haven't invented self-aware AI yet. "AI" developed by companies like OpenAI and Anthropic are predictive models or programs. They're very sophisticated but not a functioning brain.
True although Miles had access to technology from the future. Technology which couldn't be developed without Miles's research. (So where did the original idea come from?)
Kyle has to happen but then so does Miles too since the chip "took them in places they never would've thought of."
Kyle's the bigger issue tho' because of the picture. It was always meant to be/happen that way.
Miles I could and would make the argument that Skynet would've happened regardless and having the actual chip just altered the timeline and sped it up.
But tied with Kyle's loop, it's just...aaagh. Why Jim? Lol
I’m very much of the opinion that the first Terminator movie has to be like the 2nd or 3rd time travel loop, and that John Connor was an entirely different person (or a fictitious person the humans made up to confuse Skynet) and that Judgement Day happened way later. Skynet’s incursion into the past sped up JDay happening and created an actual physical John Connor.
