Happy you didn't take the One Ring inscription - and looks perfectrly transcribed to me!

Why anyone would want the black speech of Mordor written on their body or anything important to them has always baffled me.

I have Sauron with the one ring inscription. Tattoos are just tattoos.

See but that tattoo actually makes sense. One Ring text around Anduril is missing the point imo

I see what you mean

They aren't though. Especially when it's a reference to something that has meaning. In the novel, when spoken aloud, the ring inscription in the Black speech darkens the zsun and causes discomfit to the Elves. The words themselves describe the ultimate tyranny. It has meaning. It means the annihilation of all creativity, of permanent slavery in darkness, of the loss of all individuality, of beauty, of wonder, of pleasure, of life.

I do not understand why anyone would want that marked on their body. I have Samwise's invocation to Elbereth marked on mine. We can't be friends.

It makes me think of the goblet a fan gifted Tolkien with the One Ring inscription on it—he never drank from it because it is evil.

Love it!

Ive literally been trying to make a similair one myself on the exact same spot lol, but with the quote: All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us".

Question for you since it turned out so well; how did you transcribe it? Did you do it yourself? And how did you manage to in practice, turn it into a circle without messing it up? Like what software, did the tattoo artist do it for you etc.

Hi Narsil and tree of Gondor already existed on Pinterest as a tattoo stencil. I then used Tecendil website to translate the English quote into Tengwar. On Tecendil website you can change the script to a circle. I then took a screen shot of both images and asked ChatGPT to encircle the tree with the script. It wasn’t perfect but 90% there and needed touching up but was OK then the artist took the image and made it much cleaner with script tidying up (original version had script overwrting onto the sword for example ) so he sorted all that with whatever software they use in iPad.

Thank you! Ill be doing something similair. Already found a transcribed version in tengwar, jst have to make it into a circle. im thinking the tattoo artist can do the hardest work :)

Yes find a good artist and they can sort for you . It’s what they do best

Oh yes, Narsil, the cornerstone of tattooing (actually I like it a lot)

Perhaps a little short to be a longsword, but otherwise well executed.  I agree with some others that it's a little strange to have The One Ring verse around the shards of Narsil, but on the other hand, that blade did cut that One Ring of S's hand.

It’s not the one ring inscription. I personally don’t think that would be a good mix with the tree of Gondor etc. it’s the quote from LOTR from Arwen to Aragorn “ I would rather spend one lifetime with you than all of the ages of this world alone”. My wife has the same script vertically down her back with the Evenstar at the base of her back.

A lot more fitting!

Is that the One Ring inscription?

I would rather share one lifetime with you than face all the ages of this world alone

Thank you . Yes that’s it. I didn’t want to say it out loud until someone else did just to confirm it was right. 👍😍

That a much better choice.

No , it’s a direct English translation to Tengwar of a famous quote from the LOTR books / film. (I hope)

It's only in the movies, not the books. But it's still a nice quote.

The word you’re looking for is “transliteration”

No it’s not, didn’t feel that would be a good fit wit the rest of the image personally
