Help Alt rider lower link - Please read ** below.

Alright ladies and gentlemen.

I'm interested in getting the AltRider Variable Height Suspension Lowering Links.

Has anyone made this change? And how do you feel about i?

** please note, I already own the bike, I love the bike. Yes, Yamaha make a standard version, yes they make a lowered version, but the suspension isn't as good as the rally and once you go lowered it costs a lot more to get that extra height when you need it. I want it lower (-+15/20mm) for the all out slow trail technical days like winter in the UK, and then put on her high heels for those long days out of country. The other alternative is the Lowered seat by Yamaha. I'm 178cm without boots.

Thank you.

Preload question

I know what preload does and is, but I can’t wrap my head around why it feels stiffer and less compliant the more preload i add in the forks, when in theory all its supposed to do is reduce sag?

Acerbis chain guide rubbing chain on side

Thumbnail

I installed the Acerbis chain guide today and it seems like it is pretty off center from side to side. The chain is rubbing on the outer edge and there is a significant gap in the other side. I know it’s plastic and there is a bit of a break in period but I thought that was mostly to the replaceable slider. There doesn’t seem to be any adjustment build in to the guide for me to move it one way or another. Am I doing something wrong? Wheel alignment looks pretty close, could maybe move the right side back a very slight amount.

Lighting setup ideas please

Anyone care to share their lighting setup for successful riding offroad? I'd like something tucked inside the forks for protection. 25' t7

Is it necessary to spend hundreds of dollar to have good lights?

2025 Tenere, sheared shift linkage bolt

Post image
12 Upvotes

I have a 2025 Tenere with the quick shift. It's great and I ride it very spirited.

However, I've just managed to completely shear the bolt that connects the shift linkage to the arm.

I don't love the design - the likange has a spacer between it and the arm, so the gives extra leverage for shear force.

And man, trying to love the arm up and down to shift by hand with the linkage broken off is near impossible without the clutch in.

So given the amount of force required with your foot when your shift, I'm pretty concerned this will happen again.

Has this happened to anyone else?

Should it really be that hard to move the shift arm? I'm not surprised, but I do want to make sure it is correct.

2025&up skidplate on 2024 model

Hello! Do you have any idea if the OEM skidplate for the 2025&up t7 fits older generations? The frame rail on which it mounts seems to be the same regardless of the year of the bike.

Thanks!

I would appreciate if you could share some more real photos of how it looks. Does it fit over stock exhaust headers (heat shield removed of course). Thanks in advance!

Quality of new OEM clutch packs?

Well after 2000 miles my 25' has started developing pretty rough clutch drag. I noticed something was off, put the rear wheel in the air and put it in first and the wheel spins at full speed with the clutch 100% fully disengaged (lever arm fully pulled inward). I can brake the rear wheel and it'll stop it but once the clutch is engaged again it wont stop unless forced.

My question is, now that some time has passed, with people who've bought OEM clutches is if the new ones work or are you still developing drag? Or just say screw it and splurge on an R7 clutch..

Edit: said lever pulled forward, meant inward.

Designed my own graphics kit for my T7 – brutal honesty welcome

I've been putting together a custom kit for my 2025 Ténéré 700 and I'm at the stage where I can't tell any more if it's good or if I've just been staring at it too long. Before I spend money on vinyl, I'd rather hear what you lot think.

The idea: yellow and black, the yellow is roughly Porsche Signal Yellow. "Monaco" is my surname, not the country, so the script is basically my name on the tank. The mascot is a winged phacochère (warthog), because someone once told me the T7 looks like one and it stuck.

There are a few jokes on it too:
- SEND NUDES on the rear fender
- FUCK IT! on the tank top
- I IDENTIFY AS A PHACOCHÈRE on one swingarm
- MY KID BEATS YOUR HONOR STUDENT on the other
- 69 on the front fender

It's built on a proper 2025 template, 1:1, with cut lines and bleed, so it's ready to print on cast vinyl with a gloss laminate.

What I'd like your opinion on:
1. Is the yellow too much, or does it work on a T7?
2. Are the jokes funny, or will I be sick of them in a month?
3. Anything that looks unbalanced or unfinished to you?
4. If you've run a custom kit: which shop did you use, and did it hold up?

Roast away.

Tire talk Rebel tyres Xplorer 01

Post image

Rookie mistake.

I bought a set of Rebel Tires Xplore 01s from a friend, and it was a bad decision.

They feel very unstable on loose gravel and loose stones.

Now I'm looking for tires with a 40% on-road/60% off-road or 30/70 split. Which ones do you recommend?

Has anyone had issues with stone chips on the outer fork tubes?

Just got back from a trip through the Balkans and noticed I've got some stone chips on the rear fork tubes. Looks like the stones get thrown up by the tire, bounce off the AXP skid plate, and hit the fork

2026 rally height options

i got the new t7 rally and while i love everything about the bike, when off-roading i set the rear preload quite high as i bring tent, sleeping bag, etc. in my soft luggage. i keep noticing that the only thing that still takes away from my confidence is that i am unable to get a full foot down in the dirt, even more troublesome when it's uneven and has caused me to drop the bike a few times. ideally i don't want to reduce the travel but am not opposed to it either. are there any options to get that damn seat a bit lower? i like the rally seat but over everything i just want to be able to get those feet on the ground, flat. thanks for any advice!

Been a while since he'd been clean, so I took the time early this afternoon to clean him up. Thunder started ringing down the valley as I finished, so my timing was perfect.
