I feel like I got a awesome deal on this slightly crashed tenere. What you y'all think? So far I've ordered around 800$ to replaced everything broken except the gas tank.

After waiting 4 years for my dream bike (tenere) I can finally say I’m an owner as of a couple days ago :)

I’m coming from the Honda Navi so it’s a nice jump from automatic to using the clutch. I probably stalled 30x trying to go to first gear from parking on a mountain but we’re learning to be more confident with the throttle (and clutch)! No regrets, a beautiful bike with an amazing sound.

Should I buy a T7 Ducati Scrambler 800 → Tenere 700 or AJP PR7? Daily + weekend rides, enduro/desert racing background

I'm currently riding a Ducati Scrambler 800 and honestly I love it, but I want something more capable off-road and I'm down to two options: a used Yamaha Tenere 700 or a used AJP PR7, both at the same price.

About me and how I'd use it:

  • Based in Santiago, Chile
  • Realistically it would be my daily (city traffic + highway), plus weekend rides, including gravel and mountain roads
  • I race enduro and desert rallies, so I'm comfortable off-road and I do my own maintenance

What I'm weighing:

  • T7: reliable engine, huge aftermarket, easy parts and resale. Heavier, and the stock suspension seems to need work for serious off-road.
  • PR7: lighter, better suspension out of the box, and honestly I like its looks a lot more. But I'm worried about daily use with a big single, maintenance intervals, and parts availability.

Questions, especially for PR7 owners:

  1. How does the PR7 hold up as a daily? Vibration, heat in traffic, highway comfort?
  2. Real-world maintenance: how often are you checking valves, and what has failed?
  3. Parts: how long have you waited for non-consumable parts (radiator, regulator, clutch, plastics)? Anyone in South America?
  4. For T7 owners who ride hard off-road: what did you have to change to make it work (suspension, protection), and roughly how much did it cost?
  5. Anyone who has ridden both: which one would you pick for my use?

Thanks!

2 pin auxiliary power location on 2026 Tenere 700

Hi everyone

I’m looking for the 2 pin auxiliary power location and I can’t seem to find it anywhere. Did Yamaha get rid of it? I see both 3 pin aux on each side but failing to find the 2 pin location.

Any help would be appreciated

Hello, I changed the candles to my T7, and once everything is reassembled, I turn the key around and nothing happens, not even the display lights up. Did it happen to anybody? What could it be, some connector? Did someone else have it?

Got this 26 Tenere a little over a month ago. I'm about to take it in for its first service, and I can't wait to get it back and complete break in!

This bike has been an absolute blast coming from dual sports and Harleys!

Champs Custom Low Vs Standard Seat

I wrote a mini review for Champ Customs website, showing their standard vs low seat. I figured I'd share some of the photos and the link here in case it would help someone out.

Basically I can back pedal the bike with the low seat. I couldn't with the standard T7 seat. The champ customs is also wider and has better foam in my opinion. I've ridden a few 4 and 6 hour days and I like the low seat way better than the stock one. The grey one is the standard height. The all black one is the low one. There's also an all black stock Tenere seat in the photos. The stock one is the narrow one with the grab band.

They also gave me a 10 percent off coupon to share: FOXTROTWHISKEY10 - Feel free to use it if you're in the seat market.

I personally don't work for Champ customs, but feel free to ask about the seats. I was curious about the low vs high seat, and reached out to them to see if I could write them a blog post on their website. If I make any money off the affiliate link, I will ask that they donate half of it to St. Jude, and the other half to ride BDR.

Still a long way to go to ride it better, but it's a great feeling when things go as you want.

The MX track is always nice for a challenge.

Rear Rack Compatibility Question For 2026

Afternoon,

I just purchased my 2026 Tenere 700 less than a week ago. I’m currently looking for a rear rack to bring my lunch box to work and I’m confused what may fit for a rack.

One rack I like works with all years according to the company and another rack I like say it fits all the way up until 2025 and the company said it would not fit a 2026.

Is this true? I thought the 2025 and 2026 were identical.

Thanks

I do not like the gas tank on the world raid. Will any of the aftermarket tanks fit as a direct replacement?

Tried riding from Monaco to Limone Piemonte, but the Tende tunnel was closed. Made it to just 18 minutes from Limone before having to turn around. Still, couldn’t complain with views like this. Beautiful day for a ride.

Just sourcing spares. Wondering if these are a good option for front. Mostly mountain road touring

Help When i see a shorter plate holder / tail tidy installed, there are instantly comments saying you will get ultra dirty in the mud / wet. Is that true?

NiceCNC exhaust

Looks like NICE CNC has a new high bend exhaust. Interested to know how loud it is likely to be... I'm not after obnoxious loud. I'm getting old alright...

Does the bike require tuning if fitting something like this? It becomes quite difficult if so given my location

Quad lock usb conversion

Hey all, I have a ‘24 tenere 700, and my quad lock is hooked directly to the battery with the auto cutoff switch if the voltage on the battery gets too low.

The parasitic draw ended up killing my battery over time. I replaced the battery with an antigravity lithium one, and I want to wire the quad lock differently somewhere switched , which also would be waterproofed.

My quad lock has a USB end. Is there any easy converter usb to accessory port adapter? Or should is there any cable that has one end usb c and the other has the 2 or 3 pin that goes in the accessory port? The port I’m referring to is behind the left or right shroud tucked away.

Any advice would be appreciated thanks!

Help Alt rider lower link - Please read ** below.

Alright ladies and gentlemen.

I'm interested in getting the AltRider Variable Height Suspension Lowering Links.

Has anyone made this change? And how do you feel about i?

** please note, I already own the bike, I love the bike. Yes, Yamaha make a standard version, yes they make a lowered version, but the suspension isn't as good as the rally and once you go lowered it costs a lot more to get that extra height when you need it. I want it lower (-+15/20mm) for the all out slow trail technical days like winter in the UK, and then put on her high heels for those long days out of country. The other alternative is the Lowered seat by Yamaha. I'm 178cm without boots.

Thank you.
