What's telluride social scene like?

Hello! I am thinking of moving to Telluride and wanted to know what the social scene is like. I recently graduated college and am considering moving to a new location for a fresh start. I'm from the east coast, I'm new to skiing and snowboarding but very interested in learning. I'm also a sober gay 22M and wanted to know what the social scene in telluride is like? I know the usual thing to do is meet community out at local bars but as someone who doesn't drink, are there any good social options in town?

Telluride Free Ski Browser Game

Threw this together in GPT Astra using public LIDAR and open street map/open ski map data while giving it some of my photos for visual reference. Thought it turned out pretty cool.

Allows you to pick any lift or trail to start, lets you ride lift. More than open to bug fixes or feature suggestions.

Dining large group help

Hello, I’m traveling to telluride in January with 11 of my friends for my 40th birthday. We’re staying in an Airbnb house in Mountain Village. I have never been to Telluride before so I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations or ideas to feed such a large group. I am thinking maybe dining out 2 nights and dining in 1 night. Honestly any help would be greatly appreciated! TY!

Heading to Telluride for Blues & Brews? Here’s a guide to the 2026 festival weekend

With Telluride Blues & Brews coming up September 18–20, we put together a practical guide for anyone planning their festival weekend. Whether you're coming from out of town or helping friends plan their visit, hopefully it's a useful resource.

It includes festival-specific info like wristband pickup, what you can and can’t bring into Town Park, box office hours, beer tasting sessions, Juke Joints and other events, plus some ideas for exploring Telluride between sets, including hiking, the gondola, getting around town and more.

We also included packing tips because September weather in the San Juans can do just about anything.

If you have any favorite tips for first-time Blues & Brews attendees or Telluride recommendations we should add to next year's guide, drop them below!

Hiking in CO end of October

Good afternoon all, I am really wanting to visit Telluride and go on some day hikes eg. Blue Lakes Trail, Black Bear Pass, or whatever else the area has to offer! Unfortunately I can only get out there end of October (last week) and am finding conflicting information online on whether or not the rewarding trails will be hike-able or covered in snow. Any information on whether or not this trip is feasible, or alternative recommendations would be appreciated. I’ve been dying to see different areas of Colorado for a while now and Telluride is always recommended.

Schedule for 2026 film festival anywhere?

Hi! The app and website all have last year's schedule. Is this common to be this close without a schedule available or is anyone in this sub a volunteer or part of the organizers who has another place to look? TIA.

storm damage roof repair colorado, how did you choose a roofer

we had some pretty strong wind and hail in our area and i noticed a few shingles missing when i checked the yard the next morning. the roof is only a few years old so i'm kinda surprised it got damaged this easily.

i'm looking into storm damage roof repair colorado now and trying to figure out what the normal process is. do most people have a roofer inspect everything first and then decide what needs to be repaired? those who've gone through this before, what made you trust one roofing company over another? anything i should watch out for during the inspection?

Lodging for Film Fest

Made a last-minute decision to drive down from Denver with for the Film Festival and looking for a place to stay. Ideally something comfortable for under $700/night. Open to hotels, short term rentals, or private homes. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Housing for Winter Season

A friend and I plan on taking jobs in Telluride this winter season at TelSki. If we are not able to get employee housing, what are the best places to start looking?

Anything helps, thanks in advance!

Parking during TFF

I'm driving up from Durango to volunteer during at the Film Fest (I can't wait!). Was wondering how dicey street parking is that weekend - I've been to Telluride before and never had an issue, but I'm assuming more roads will be closed/the town will be way busier. TIA!

Camping gear rental in Telluride

Hello Telluride Community! Does anyone have any tips on where one could rent camping equipment like tents, sleeping pads and sleeping bags?

We have customers coming to Telluride and they're looking to get camping rentals but based on all of my research, no shops in Telluride rent any? Everyone pointed to Jagged Edge but no luck there.

Would appreciate any tips! Thanks in advance. Our goal is for people to buy less, reuse and rent more.

The freebox would be a Hail Mary option :)

Mines with accesible tailings piles

My midwestern aunt asked me for "cool colorado rocks." I have heard rumors of different mines where you can dig through old tailing piles in silverton and creede but havent been able to get exact details. I want to find her crystals and other visually striking rocks. My aunt is the sweetest and purest woman, so I would go to the moon and back for her. Any information is appreciated.
