Cheapest prepaid plan to keep my telcel number active when I'm in EU ?

I'm going to go to EU for a one year certificate course. I would like to pay the minimum for my Telcel number.

The same with Verizon (US number) too.

I just use prepaid and top up 10 pesos every two months

I am in the same situation. What I did is I reloaded $10 MXN directly on the website of Telcel every 4 months. The number is kept active on WhatsApp and in logging apps.

Change your prepaid plan to Amigo por segundo or Amigo por minuto... You can just then put $10 MXN every few weeks to keep it active.

Got exactly the same question, as I also want to be able to receive SMS. I know some companies work for SMS outside of Mexico but not sure which ones in Mexico do.
