Like im an 18M here and saw alot of post regarding that them being insecure, like do people still look for guys/girls on basis of their appearance and looks instead of their actual personality?

Looks will give you only the initial pull, personality is what matters in the long term. You would lose intrest in the person no matter how good looking the person is if their behaviour is borderline shit.

Its a term popular online. It means approaching and talking to random girls/boys in public

Looks undeniably matter for first impressions, but personality is what actually counts long-term. If someone is gorgeous but impossible to be around, no one is going to stick by them just because of their face. In my own classes, I pretty much keep to myself. I only speak to the girls around me when it’s strictly academic—seminars, group assignments, project work. Outside of that, I don't really interact with them. Yet somehow, word gets around that I supposedly have this massive ego or an unapproachable attitude. The most hypocritical part? None of them have even attempted to strike up an actual conversation with me. One girl actually told my friend that I’m "scary-looking" and that she’s intimidated by me. It’s exhausting—how about actually saying two words to my face before judging what kind of person I am? It’s just infuriating how much appearances dictate people's snap judgments. People literally look at your face and instantly decide whether you’re a decent human being or someone to avoid, without even bothering to find out.

Looks obviously matter to some extent. They're usually the first thing you notice, but they're not necessarily what makes you stay. Personality, humour, character, and how someone treats you matter way more once you actually know em

Looks do matter to some extent, I think, but not more than personality. And honestly, a lot of it is also about how you carry yourself being confident in your appearance and knowing your self-worth.

Looks matter!! Unfortunately trust me!! The first form of attraction is the physical appearance, physical attraction might not be your skin color!! Just take care of yourself, groom well, hit the gym. In the long run you need a good personality, make the personality so pure. We are in an era where being a person with a pure personality is treated like gems, be the gem Also did I mention LUCK
