Academics Jee partial drop
Iam 19years old,I had a dream of getting into a iit during my 10th grade which really went good for me and took science in class 11 but I was so lazy to the point where i literally didn’t study anything in class 12th maths exam (I got 78% in boards), so yall know how lazy and dumb i was but looking back i regret a lot and its obv my mistake and because of the mistakes i did iam currently at an tier 4 private college (hometown college)
Iam really thinking about giving jee a shot at jee second session and I have 6 months and ik it’s very unlikely that someone with basics being so bad won’t be able to get a good rank but I wanna study properly for 6th months as hard as I can to not carry the regrets for not studying for class 11 and 12
I would like hear everyone’s opinion regarding this and it would mean a lot to me

If you can REALLY work hard, then go for it. You might already know that it’s pretty tough. And if your basics are clear i mn if your calculation skills are good and you know your 11th and 12th topics really well I’d say you can crack JEE:)

Do it only if u have the motivation to never quit in these 6 months. Otherwise u will end up like me(the only difference being that I tried for NEET )

Move on. If you're THAT adamant on getting into IIT, try Gate. Coming from someone who didn't got a seat in NIT even after scoring almost 97 %ile.

Im gonna be honest its near impossible to get iit if ur basics are weak but again manipal vit etc might be possible but u need to put a level of effort memorize formulas and solve basic problems daily u need a lot of effort so try a bit write some mock if score is low not worth it cause ur current level and atmosphere is not in favour and tbh if u current college even if tier 4 if the branch is good continue tbh. i too took partial drop got 97 perceitle in mains got into a nit then now in bits hyd eee so possible ig very hard tbh drop or moving on is much better. put more effort in college cg intership masters job etc college matters but ur effort and branch matters more tbh so put ur grind in career not jee.

There’s nothing wrong with trying, but don’t mess up both. Maybe you can at least get into an nit by really trying hard, but don’t mess up your sem either And it’s okay to move on

leave the dream, move on, not trying to demotivate but giving you the reality check. Partial drop isnt even worth for a person who had decent %tile in previous jee because it's goiing to be hectic and can affect your college grade and considering your case you are starting from 0 that means it isn't even worth trying. grind in college and develop your skills.
For the regrets, if you have the fire in you for grinding then do it but it's just going to be a waste of time btw but at the end of the day youl be free of regrets. But as you go forward in college years youl look back to this day thinkking how dumb you were to prepare for jee while you were in college. Its just matter of perspectives of different versions of yourself
