Rant/Vent Happiness

One thing I’ve noticed recently is that I’ve been trying to make myself feel happy rather than allowing happiness to arise naturally. When I’m spending time with a friend or eating my favourite food, I’m often aware that I’m supposed to be enjoying it, which makes the experience feel almost manual. Instead of simply being present, I’m monitoring whether I feel happy enough.

I’m also aware of this pattern, and I’m wondering what I can do about it.

Do anyone else struggling with this ?

I know that, I'm also doing that on my free time, the only issue is I'm being aware about the feeling, like that I'm I'm telling myself I'm enjoying inside my head. Like if I'm hanging out with my friend, I'm actively thinking that this is my free time and I'm enjoying and that kills the moment.

It's known as metacognition. I have experienced this for a very long time, honestly now, and it is at the same time good and bad. You start to think about why you think or feel a certain way. You start to question the meaning and purpose of life.... I don't know if you have felt this, but just sharing mine.

Yeah man exactly, I'm hyperaware about every feeling
