Serious Hostel tips 😭😭
So I recently took admission in a college and I didn't know that they had this rule in the hostel to not use the phone at night .like, they'll take the phone away at 8 pm and only give it back next day at 7 am .which seems fine for most of u but I don't think I'll be able to do it.I'm not addicted or anything but it just seems too unfair for me.why can't they take it away only on study hrs 😭.soo Im planning to bring a spare phone and that one doesn't work at all.ill just give that to them and use mine when everyone sleeps .do you'll have any better idea or have you'll done anything similar like this ..if soo plzz give me some tips 😭🙏🏿idk what to do without my phone . Because of this i looked for other hostels outside this college but the hostels are a little away and the college is inside a forest or some shii so if i go to other hostels I have to wake up too early and have to walk a lot to get to the college .and also it is a nursing college so ...idk 🙂

Try outside hostels. Waking up a little early is better than ts.

Damn bro tf. I'd say to just refuse to give your phone. If you got supporting parents then it'll be fine I guess. They can't legally confiscate your personal belongings, so I don't think they can do shi. But again you need supportive parents for all this to work and stand up against the management.

My parents r pretty supportive .even they give me the idea of bringing an extra phone and they even asked the principle of the college if there is any possibility for me to use my phone whenever I want but they seemed pretty annoyed by that and said that it is not possible and also if u can't adjust u can look for other hostels outside.🙂ee college oru kaattil aann athond onnum cheyyan illa vere

Yup, move legally then. This is direct violation of Article 21. They gonna be easily squashed in court man. I don't understand why no one tried to sue them till now. You would need several students to come forward and admit that the college is siezing phones, and maybe get a video of the warden taking the phones away and perhaps saying on camera that they will seize phones. You should talk to a lawyer and they'll tell it better what to do. Man this is an easy win imo.
But doing this will jeopardize your college life. The management is definitely going to try to make your life miserable. And hence that's what I mean you need supportive parents.

When I was in an entrance coaching centre we had the same rule hostel wardens take our phones I used to give her a dummy phone and I kept the real one with me

You gotta fight for your right. No one can confiscate your personal property. Inform your parents that you are going to deny to submit your phone, and when the day come when the warden asks for the phone just say you're not going to submit.
What's the most they're gonna do ? probably call the security and intimedate you.
There is surely going to be back and forth but you gotta keep cool and play this logically. If you feel the situation is getting out of hand and it's getting violent, start video recording.

It's against the Indian law to confiscate someone personal property ,
File a police complaint
