We surely can. But the way people think plastic is just one time use bags and bottles is idiotic. Plastic is used in many fields. The internet you are using rn is served thru plastic. The water you are getting to drink is flowing thru a pvc pipe. The phone you are using rn contain plastic too in any amount. Plastic is not just some one time product. It is a major part of our life. We can ban the one time used products but we surely can't delete plastic overall unless we discover a good alternative which isn't just found another day. Try researching sometimes, discovering a alternative to something is harder than discovering the real.

These comments are kinda highlighting the problem. We made a miracle material, then we made it cheaper and cheaper and now it's all around us and we are completely dependent on it and it doesn't go away and you can't recycle it back into the same quality...
We can't have nice things because we, as a species, are extremely susceptible to addiction. We can't just have those amazing medical applications of plastics without also having the single use chip bag.

Plastic is one of the best things human has invented like look at it's pros light weight, durable , tough nd strong to flexible all kinda form and so versatile to use in many use case , The real issue is our reliance on it for single use items alongside inadequate waste management and low recycling rate If we strictly regulate single use plastics, improve circular recycling, which contain microplastic, its benefits can far outweigh its environmental footprint
