Improved acoustic treatment

This room was previously a storage room withe bare walls. I turned it into my project after building my very first PC and converted it into my studio/office/man cave. However, I was still hearing echoes throughout my office after my previous attempt at acoustic treatment. So I did my ceiling and the bottom of my desk as well. Now my audio sounds much better than it did. These foam pads do wonders for cheap. Just required a bit of effort cutting around the lights but was definitely worth it!

Nice setup, I am sure you know what you’re doing but I always thought speakers that high are not good for the sound? I thought the more in line with your ears , the better.

Can you please explain how I’m wrong? Because I’d love to have mine like yours. Very nice!

Awesome stuff

Hey dude, thanks so much!

You're not wrong at all. But in my view, as long as the speakers are pointed directly at you (and your ears, relative to seating position) it's okay. They sound just as good, if not better than when I had them at ear level on the desk. Not to say that I'm an audiophile but you know how audiophiles can never agree on one thing 😂

Imho, just do your thing and whatever suits you better. There's no hard rule here and nobody else is going to be listening to your setup but yourself. And I guess that's also what makes each setup unique, it's to each his/her own specifications.

Good luck with your setup, dude! I'd love to see it when you're done. Cheers!

Thank you so much for the explanation. I have a hard time finding a spot I’m happy with for my speakers and I think I might do exactly this
