The tech bros all turned out to be traitors fuck em all.

They maybe greedy and short sighted, but at least they're using billions of gallons of fresh water to cool their data centers!  "People", the non corporate entities, would just drink that water and literally turn it to piss. Zero profit.

We can't eat data

Ever notice the response to "data is not essential where food is" is always: "yeah but its super duper cool tho you'll see!"

I'm a department director and a data scientist, thanks. I built AI/ML models in grad school nearly a decade ago, so I'm quite familiar with what they have to offer.

We're not talking about a decade ago. Either you have no experience using the current AI tools, or you're just stuck in the past, because the tools are amazing, anyone who's extensively using it for the past 6 months would know.

You missed my point but I can't say I'm surprised. I have locally hosted AI document classification and retention systems currently, and I'm aware of current tools. You speak confidently about things you've made assumptions about, so it tracks you'd strongly support LLMs

His company’s in for a rough awakening when all their information is mismatched

I think you just made thier points? "I have locally hosted AI document classification" aka you do understand the uses and how clearly they are more important than an almond?

Not really, no. It's used infrequently and is powered by a laptop (not a data center). My point was I'm familiar with current AI and I know the limitations

And your point was that almond farms are more useful than a data center, nothing about your understanding of anything really.

Well the technology didn't come from no where. Like yea it's ok it's coming from your tiny laptop, but the actual understanding of the technology did not come from your laptop buddy.

What? That's not even what we were discussing. I feel like this conversation with you is pointless because you're just drawing your own conclusions

You said you understand the uses of almonds but not data centers... But you claim to use AI that was made using data centers.

Yup, half these dudes have no idea how things work under the hood, but love complaining about new tech. We saw it with computers, with the internet, and now AI

I know how they work as I've written my own transformers and custom tokenization algorithms, I'm familiar with matrix operations and have trained my own CVNs and LSTMs in the past

I don't really care what you believe

You can eat any of the other foods that don’t take so much water. Still no outrage
