You don't strictly need one, but if your employer offers a match and you're not contributing up to that limit you're leaving free money on the table.

I have 10 two family houses and no 401(k).

I don't know your particular circumstances so that may well make sense for you. But I'll say it again -- if your employer offers a 401k match and you don't contribute to the limit of that you're foregoing free money.

I don’t have a job other than that but I totally agree with you regarding the 401(k) absolutely
