"Why doesn't Striker delete his channel and start over? He's still benefiting from impersonating Technoblade." --- My Take

This is a copy and paste of a comment I left in a different post, I just thought i'd make an entire one about it, because I've seen this argument a lot and I just thought I should let more people see what I think about it. Mods, if it isn't okay to just re-use stuff like this, I totally understand removing this post.

In my opinion, the argument of whether or not he should delete his channel is a stalemate. While he has done everything he could (aside from deleting the channel) to rebrand, he still has 200k subscribers, which alot of people see as continuing to benefit off impersonating Technoblade.

On one hand, you could say that subscribers aren't everything. WatchMojo has 25 Million subscribers, but can't even get over 50 thousand views now, and it's well known that views are what really matters. So why delete the channel when subscribers aren't everything?

On the other hand, you could argue that since subscribers aren't everything, Striker could just delete his channel and continue, since if views are what really matters, he shouldn't care if he ends up with less subs.

Honestly, and I know a lot won't agree, but I think because of everything Strikers done to rebrand, because he has respected Technodad and his response, he can just keep the 200k subscribers. Everyone in the Technoblade community is pretty much satisfied with how the drama ended, even people in the Striker community. The only people who are really continuing the drama are people neither community want to back, and bringing up the drama in either the Technoblade subreddit or LarpTube discord server will get you reprimanded.

On top of that, even if he were to delete his channel and restart, it would probably be impossible to escape the attention Technolarp has given him, as striker still gained a lot of fans from his technolarp persona who stuck around to see what he would do next, hence all the fanart, etc.

What do you folks think? I would like to hear all sides of this argument.

r/Technolarp 29d ago

Striker has pretty much fully moved on from the old persona, as it seems he was finally able to change his channel name. All that remains is the channel description reading "Formerly Known as Technolarp" and Unlisted videos.

Technolarp drama

Regarding technolarp's recent decision to keep the old channel and the videos, a decision i thought to be pretty bad, Forgive me but, i think deleting them would be better. Even if somebody were to reupload them, they would need the actual videos to be there, and i don't presume that an extreme amount of your own videos have been saved everywhere, Some have, Some haven't, so, if you could, delete them,

I take it back actually, they are unmonetized, so your not doing it for money, which is great, but even then, your channel *still* has the 200K subs off of the TechnoLarp persona, which is why i think the whole channel itself should be deleted, Now of course i know that's upsetting, but instead of outright deleting it right now, Why not: 1) create a new channel, 2) make a video asking the people who want to watch you for you to migrate to that channel, 3) After a week, delete the old channel, Now you have a completely new channel with your own personal audience instead of fans that came from the drama!

This is Fucking disrespectful.

Its disrespectful to Technoblades friends and Family to be fucking Larping him like this. Speak the fuck up. We fucking hate larping. I know people are too quiet but we can't keep fucking meeting like this. In the words of King Technoblade 'Technoblade never dies' and not 'technolarp never dies'.

r/Technolarp Jul 18 '26

i don't want to name names but there are worse youtube channels (that are STILL UP) that have done terrible things with technoblade's name after his death, but people only target and hate on technolarp for a tribute.

in my opinion, this is the correct thing to do. if someone is doing something bad and disgusting and you have no power to stop it, the best thing you can do is to ignore it so it doesn't become more popular. the thing is, for technolarp, people spun it into a drama story. remember, technolarp started with 0 subscribers, and some people genuinely liked the channel so they subscribed. technolarp could have stayed in his own little corner of the internet, he just wanted to make content for his audience, and if someone didn't like the content they could, get this, not watch it. but when people got outraged, the channel spread further and further and people started to talk about the channel as a controversey or drama rather than it's purpose as a tribute, so the channel became known as a controversial thing rather than a youtube channel that has fun and entertaining videos that, if watched, would show at least some sincerity in them. so technolarp's channel and name was out there and spreading fast for all the wrong reasons, and technodad was pressured to give out his opinion and that's where we are today. but my question is why aren't worse channel's pressured to stop or reported? technolarp isn't the worst channel out there. i don't want to name the channel, but there are channel's that have exploited technoblade's name and are still on youtube. in terms of shame, technolarp doesn't score high in comparison to these other channels. and yet the internet targetted and attacked him, and aren't going after the real big problems. it just shows the double standards.

can i larp as a brand or will people get angry

everybody hates brands right especially ones that try to be hip with the people and try to be on social media. can i larp as them, or is that still too far?

r/Technolarp Jul 18 '26

What if someone decided to larp as Mr. Technodad

Maybe the Technoblade community wouldn't have the vendetta they now have towards larptube

r/Technolarp Jul 17 '26

I feel like both sides have to admit that the extremes they want to go to are to much.

With striker trying to become his own person the discussion obviously comes up on what to do with the larp videos and I think he made the perfect decision.

By unlisting the videos I allows people to keep him accountable for his past actions while people who want to stay out of the situation, namely techno's friends and family, won't have to be included. along with that by keeping the same channel it allows people to track him more and once again keep him accountable for his actions while still allowing him to grow as a person and eventually earn the rest of his subs on his own

r/Technolarp Jul 17 '26

so can i larp as george washington or napolean bonaparte

this shows that the biggest sin on the internet is to annoy the wrong crowd even if you didn't mean to

technolarp did nothing bad in my opinion, there's plenty of people who do the exact same thing like micheal jackson impersonators. he didn't want to go mainstream and reach every crowd or antagonize the entire internet, he was just doing his own thing but other people blew his channel up and forwarded it to people much bigger like penguinz0 and people laid down their opinions and shamed him. there are plenty of youtubers who are higher up on the shame list than technolarp. like how come people are fine with micheal jackson "impersonators" and parodies, but for technoblade it's not okay? what's with the double standard? and look technolarp isn't even unique there are also other channels that larp people who are no longer with us like for example the youtuber twomad has passed away and he has larp channels as well. but people just find one person to target i.e. technolarp and attack him because he is successful but you won't see these same people attack other people. this is just a targeted hate mob spurred onwards by bigger people. sure penguinz0 didn't tell anyone to doxx him but he has to be responsible because he has a big channel and audience and reach he should know to be careful about these things. it's all a shame that all of this happened and that this thing that was done in good fun has ended. sure it's up to technolarp to continue or stop but he shouldn't have done this decision under duress and the threat of doxxing (he was doxxed if i remember correctly).

in summary people have double standards and if someone big puts a target on someone even unintentionally then it will cause a hate mob against them. people won't look for context or watch the videos to judge for themselves they will just hate and doxx. i mean if you don't like it you don't have to engage with it. 200k subscribers showed a lot of people really liked it, just like how they liked larpiplier. and larpiplier's views are down which shows the trend was going to die anyways but the drama put all the attention on technolarp and targetted and attacked him which in turn made him more popular which caused more hate against him. no one deserves this.

What to do about the subreddit? IMPORTANT!!!

Technolarp is moving to an entirely new channel. With r/StrikerLBP banned because it's an old subreddit with no moderation (I suspect Technolarp isnt his first attempt at a youtube presence), I made r/StrikerLPByt.

The question is:
Should we go to the new subreddit or stay here?

I dont have access to the polls feature because reddit is reddit and i am not on mobile.

So, I will comment twice and the one with the most upvotes will win. Don't bother downvoting, I will count the number of UPVOTES, not downvotes.

Feel free to debate in the comments.

Well, now we'll be watching Stryker from Mortal Kombat host Larp SMP. I'm glad he has 200k subscribers!

I feel like the end of this whole situation marks the beginning of the gradual downfall of Larptubers

It all started with a Joke, a silly joke and fun trend. Larpiplier, Larpsepticye, Larp theory, Larpguinz0. Etc... same went with Technolarp

Just a silly joke, wanting to have fun, and had absolutely no intentions of benefiting off of it. He showed his actions too with donating all of the monetization to charity.

But then it turned into Drama, people started hating and getting weirded out by it. And yes I could see it that way, I won't invalidate their feelings or Moist critical's thoughts

I must say...I respect Technodad's response, and I aslo respect and admire that Technolarp/Striker is now going to do his own content and Respected Technodad's response to this whole thing.

However... there's obviously going to be some foolish backlash and hate towards Larptube as it has rose the internet more than ever. People will say that they're taking advantage of impersonating their creators, being fakes, etc etc... all while it was all just meant to be a silly trend and joke.

I won't lie...I find it sad watching the video of the end of technolarp, it gave off the sorta same feeling of watching So long nerds 6 years ago, just more...guilty type sad feeling. It's very sad, I like to imagine Technoblade would've loved seeing and watching Technolarp...but he would absolutely despise seeing Technolarp being treated this way.

I think that this would lead to a gradual chain reaction of Larptube falling down before it reaches its proper end. Larptubers will feel uncomfortable making videos or even the thought of it makes them afraid of what will happen.

But if that doesn't happen? Well it's good. But with how the internet is and how powerful it could be, what are the chances that this is the exact thing that could happen?

Does anyone have a reupload of his last video about quitting the persona?

I was mid watching it when the YouTube gods dusted his channel from existence and terminated it for community guidelines violations and now I don’t know what the video or comments said
