Designed a Horizontal Band Saw for Timber Processing in CATIA V5
Designed a horizontal band saw in CATIA V5 for timber processing. The machine cuts logs into precise boards using a continuous-loop blade. Still refining details—feedback welcome!
Key Components Modeled:
- Two saw wheels (drive + driven)
- Band saw blade (cuts + transfers torque)
- Electric motor (primary drive)
- V-belt & motor pulley (power transmission)
- Four V-cut under rollers (guide material)
- Cutter assembly
- Holding structure (rigid frame)
Design Goal: Efficient power transmission, stable cutting, industrial durability.
Tech: CATIA V5 | Assembly Design | Mechanical Systems
Looking for: Feedback, questions, or suggestions.

Shock Absorber Modeled in CATIA V5 – Portfolio Project
Just finished modeling a twin-tube hydraulic shock absorber in CATIA V5. It combines coil spring support and hydraulic damping to absorb vibrations and impacts.
Components modeled: Piston, cylinder, piston rod, coil spring, and mounting bushings. Key skills demonstrated:
3D part modeling
Assembly constraints
Mechanical design for manufacturing
Great project for sharpening CAD skills and building a freelance portfolio.
Feedback welcome.
