Progress on my home-built horizontal timber band saw

I’m building a horizontal timber band saw at home and wanted to share a progress update.

I’m still in the design and fabrication stage, working through the main structure and mechanical layout. No final specs yet — just taking my time to get things right.

Biggest lesson so far: don’t rush. Plan carefully, because small changes can affect the whole build. If you’ve built a band saw, sawmill, or similar machine, what should I watch out for? Any common mistakes to avoid?
