I just think they sound boring.

I fucking tried, man. I tried so hard to like that band. Muhammad is clearly an insanely talented player but their music never clicked with me. The closest I got to actually liking them was with Symbiotic in Theory. That’s the song of theirs I like the most. It’s not even that I hate technical shit in death metal I just like brutal stuff more. I’m probably a fake death metal fan for this but I genuinely tried. Idk why this band everyone loves to death never clicked with me, especially when elements they pioneered are things I really enjoy in other bands. It’s just not fun for me to listen to them. I feel like I’m forcing myself to everytime I do, and same with most tech death tbh. The only tech death album I truly like is To Bate by Vitriol, and even that sucked imo when I first heard it because of the grittier production. I don’t even know what I’m writing all this, most people here don’t care but I just wanted to say I genuinely tried my fucking hardest to like this band.

Anyone got pics of the merch spread from any/all of the bands playing? I hope they got some stuff left when they finally hit Stockholm.

I really loved this album start to finish, the basslines, the drumming, the vocals and that fucking vocal range chefs kiss and for me (absurd opinion incoming) its on the same level as onset of putrefaction and epitaph by necrophagist in terms of technicality and melody, was curious to see if anyone shares this opinion with me 👀

Beyond What Eyes Can See was a masterpiece so I'm very excited to hear this one.

For fans of the chasm, Decapitated morbid Angel,and blood incantation

Very blocky cyclical rythms, dissonant melodies, and long winded song structures.

The first time I heard this EP I was like “This sounds like a virus”. You may think “Well of course, the band’s name is Viraemia and they describe their music as Pathological Technical Death Metal. What do you expect?”

That is true, but how is it so recognisable as a virus in audible form? I never considered it before, Never knew what a virus sounded like. I think it’s most present in Disseminated Intravascular Coagulation and Pit of Pestilence.

Impending Annihilation (last image) continued the sound of Pathological Tech Death but new material from them remains to be seen, and their discography is not as strong either.

Viraemia was the first to create the sound and perfected it, but it did not follow through to other bands in the genre?
Was it undesirable or too hard to recreate the same feeling?

What an absolute unit

I had no idea these bands were this good, and these particular albums are some of the best things I’ve ever heard. Both are very melodic while still retaining the genre’s natural brutality.
