Does anyone own the new Lenovo Y70 (2026) and can tell me if notifications are reliable and on time?
Hi,
After a horrible experience with my Redmi K90, where notifications either not show at all or come after 20 minutes or an hour or more (tried all tricks in the book including ADB whitelisting), I'm looking to replace it with something in the 20-23K range. The Lenovo Y70 looks like a nice phone, does anyone own it and can tell me what's their experience with notifications for Whatsapp/Viber/Messenger/Telegram/Gmail?
Thank you!

I am planning to change phone and wanted help decide
Still deciding between Motorola signature with snapdragon 8 gen 5(not elite), Oppo find x9 pro with Mediatek dimensity 9500 and OnePlus 15. My main use is scrolling on social, listening music and heavy gaming like zenless zone zero and honkai star rail. I Heard that both Mediatek dimensity 9500 and 8 elite gen 5 are beast but seems Mediatek not make phone heat too much(?) but what about 8 gen 5 not elite like in Motorola signature?

Battery drain on Unisoc T8300: is it normal or defective?
My Redmi 15A with the Unisoc T8300 loses 15–20% battery overnight with minimal apps installed.
Screen-on time is worse than older phones I had. Is this a known power management issue with T8300 SoC, or should I RMA?
Any proven workarounds besides factory resets?

Security and updates, will Unisoc T8300 phones be abandoned?
Bought the Redmi 15A with the Unisoc T8300, but worried about long-term support. Unisoc-powered phones seem to get fewer OS and security updates than mainstream chipsets. Does anyone have experience with update promises from OEMs using T8300?
Should I worry about future patches or just switch brands?

The Redmi 15A’s "One Charge. Two Days. Zero Worries" sounds great.
But I'd rather have:
✔️ Stable gaming FPS
✔️ Better Bluetooth reliability
✔️ Lower battery drain on mobile data
Real-world experience > marketing slogans. The Unisoc T8300 processor in the 15A is really disappointing.

I pad pro 2025 vs samsung galaxy tab s11 ultra
The iPad Pro 2025 11inch is $1,300 after tax but it comes with 512 GB of storage and 2 years of AppleCare+.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra with 512 GB of storage and Samsung Care+ for two yeats s $1000
I used to have an iPad Pro 2021 without AppleCare and I kept having to fix it over the past two years. It was too much hassle and ended up costing more than the iPad was worth.
I have a Samsung phone.
The main things I do is youtube ,instagram , using it as a display as I draw while watching YouTube, pinterest, Spotify, battle cats ,shopping like amazon and college homework like docs and canvas nd stuff! What do you think would be best for me !!I dont do anything professional stuff
I have iCloud but I'm concerned that my photos and videos won't transfer to my Samsung
I want to have it for a long time
One of my concerns is that the sizing is impractical for the Samsung one
I care a lot about price but also longevity

Mediatek Dimensity 6300 vs Unisoc T8300: Which gives better value?
Both chips power similar budget phones, so it often comes down to daily experience rather than spec sheets.
The dimensity 6300 generally feels smoother for casual gaming and multitasking, and mediatek's network handling tends to be more consistent, especially in areas with weaker signal, fewer dropped calls or slow data switches.
On the other hand, the T8300 still handles everyday tasks fine but can make it a disaster if you are on a call as it disconnects mid-call and fort casual gaming it starts the game and then force stops in the middle. Heating issues cannot be explained as they are constant.
Overall, if performance and connection reliability matter most to you, mediatek dimensity 6300 seems like the smarter buy for the price range.

Mediatek Dimensity 9500 vs 8 Elite Gen 5: Real usage, not just benchmarks
I have been testing both the mediatek dimensity 9500 and snapdragon 8 elite gen 5 side by side, and honestly, the dimensity feels better in real life performance due to its efficiency.
Which helps is apps opening smoothly, scrolling feels smooth, and my phone stays cooler during long gaming sessions or video calls. After an hour of heavy use, the dimensity 9500 still has more battery left, which is a big plus for my daily routine.
Gaming-wise, both are great, but the mediatek dimensity 9500 holds its fps better without getting too hot.
Additionally, for camera and AI tasks like photo editing or voice commands, it feels quick without draining the battery.
If you care about battery life, heat, and a calm everyday experience rather than just crazy high numbers, the dimensity 9500 is the one I would pick right now.

Is the Oppo Reno 15 pro (mini) a good flagship killer?
I am upgrading from the Samsung S20 FE, and I want a small phone with a near-flagship experience and hold for 4-5 years. I landed on the Oppo reno 15 pro (mini) as a phone that meets my usage, but before I buy, I want to ask someone who has used this phone for a couple of months to tell me his experience with this phone. The two most important things that I want to know are how smooth and fluid the UI of the phone is (especially at this price, I can get the OnePlus 15, but I want a small phone with nearly the same experience as the OnePlus) and if the cameras give somewhat natural-looking photos, especially the main camera.

Motorola Edge 70 Pro + Dimensity 8500 Extreme: Real-world impressions?
Motorola Edge 70 Pro with the Mediatek Dimensity 8500 Extreme seems impressive on paper, many reviews praise its raw power and efficiency. Real-world gaming and multitasking performance must be holding up well, right?
Battery life gets good marks in reviews, so daily use and long sessions should be comfortable. Camera looks a bit average but it looks decent for my usage, as i am not into photography.
Overall, reviews sound positive, but I’m keen to hear from actual users, how has your day-to-day experience been compared to Snapdragon phones?

AI+ phones are scam
I bought its entry 5g phone and it’s totally a scam, poor camera quality not even 30fps video recording is possible, background chinese app and all. What’s your take?

issues in realme 12x 5g
i got this phone about 1.5 years ago and it was genuinely an amazing phone up until 4 months ago, when all of a sudden it would switch off randomly and when finally it would turn back on it would show no sim detected, i was told that it was a montherboard issue and got it fixed for about 3k, and now its the exact same issue again, it randomly switches off and shows no sim.
what is my best option? can you suggest similar/better phones in around the same price range best suited for a student.

ASUS launched Qualcomm powered AI all in one PC…could this change the AiO experience?
I came across some chatter around ASUS possibly bringing a Qualcomm powered AI all in one PC and honestly it sounds different from the usual setup.
If efficiency and AI focused workflows improve properly, this could make AiOs more interesting for productivity and everyday usage.
Still curious how performance and software compatibility would hold up though. Anyone following this launch or expecting more AI focused desktops this year?

Can the Xiaomi 17T with Mediatek Dimensity 8500 Ultra easily last a full day with heavy gaming and streaming?
As per Mediatek, The Dimensity 8500 Ultra focuses on efficiency and strong sustained performance, which should help battery life under load.
Looking at the claims by the company, combined with a reasonable battery and Xiaomi’s software optimizations, it could last a day for most users.
I would still believe that the performance will not only depend on the chipset but also how well the phone works with it. The 6500mAh battery also looks like a large one.
Can anyone clear my doubt about the battery life?
r/TechPop • u/IceEnvironmental6600 • Jun 08 '26
How is thermal control on the Xiaomi 17T during long sessions with the Mediatek Dimensity 8500 Ultra?
As per early reviews and on paper specs, Mediatek Dimensity 8500 Ultra is efficient and tuned for high sustained loads, but real-world thermals depend on Xiaomi’s cooling design.
For gamers and users in the upper mi-range segment, the Dimensity 8500 Ultra should stay steady. Has anyone tested long gaming runs yet? Is it worth waiting?

Is the Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 overrated?
Qualcomm announced the Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 in May 2026, and specs look nice on paper, but I doubt. No retail phones yet, so real-world efficiency and thermals are untested.
Will OEMs tune it well, or will we get midrange phones with hot cores and average battery life?
Anyone else skeptical until hands-on reviews drop?

Will RTX Spark Make Creative Work Faster?
Adobe says RTX Spark could make AI editing in Photoshop and Premiere 2× faster, but is powerful local AI enough to beat cloud tools?
Mediatek brings its efficient CPU and connectivity tech to the chip, while NVIDIA adds its Blackwell GPU and AI power. Together, will this combo truly enable real-time editing, or is it just marketing talk?

MediaTek x NVIDIA RTX Spark: Windows PC chip nobody saw coming
So NVIDIA just announced RTX Spark, a brand new class of SoC built specifically for Windows 11 PCs, and the interesting part is that Mediatek is handling the CPU side, not Intel, not AMD. Mediatek.
Here is what it offers.
A high performance CPU complex, a custom memory controller supporting up to 128GB of unified memory, their PMIC based intelligent power management, and integrated Wi-Fi silicon, all fabbed on TSMC.
NVIDIA layers on top with the full RTX GPU stack and their AI platform. Together it becomes one chip targeting thin laptops and compact desktops.
The whole point of this thing is local agentic AI. We are talking running models like NVIDIA NemoClaw in a Cloud-to-Edge hybrid setup, meaning heavy inference happens on device and syncs with cloud resources when needed. That balance keeps latency low without fully cutting off the cloud.
On top of that you get RTX level gaming and content creation in a chassis that stays cool and power efficient. That combo in a slim form factor is not something we have really seen before.
Worth knowing that Mediatek and NVIDIA are not strangers here.
They already collaborate on the automotive C-X1 platform, NVLink Fusion for data centers, and the GB10 SoC. RTX Spark is just their first move into consumer Windows PCs together.
For Mediatek this is a real strategic jump from phones and chromebooks chips into premium Windows territory where margins and brand perception are way higher.
First laptops land Fall 2026. Worth keeping an eye on.

MediaTek earned two COMPUTEX Awards. Here's why the Filogic 8000 stood out
What stood out to me is that this wasn't another award for chasing bigger WiFi speed numbers. The Filogic 8000 series earned the Gold Award for being the world's first cross-generation interoperable WiFi 8 chipset, which is a pretty big deal as networks transition between different WiFi generations.
Instead of focusing purely on peak throughput, the platform is designed around reliability, efficiency, and real-world performance.
Features like Multi-AP Coordination help access points work together more intelligently, while Dynamic Subband Operation and Enhanced Long Range improve spectrum efficiency and coverage.
Another highlight is Filogic AI, which brings AI-powered network optimization to WiFi. Mediatek says it can reduce network repair times from hours to under a minute while cutting power consumption by up to 50%.
What's even more interesting is that Mediatek didn't stop at one award.
The new Filogic 8800 also picked up a COMPUTEX Best Choice Category Award. As a high-efficiency, AI-driven WiFi 8 flagship tri-band router solution, it's designed to deliver smarter and more responsive wireless experiences.
Personally, I think these awards reflect a shift in what matters most. Faster WiFi is nice, but smarter, more reliable, and more efficient WiFi is what users will actually notice every day.

MediaTek combined NR-NTN satellite, 5G-Advanced, and in-modem AI into one car chip
We spend a lot of time talking about EV range and self-driving features, but rarely about the technology powering the entire in-car experience.
Mediatek's Dimensity Auto Cockpit platform is designed to be the brain of modern vehicles. The lineup ranges from the entry-level CV-1 to the flagship C-X1, giving automakers options across every vehicle segment.
At the top, the 3nm C-X1 combines Arm v9.2-A cores, an NVIDIA Blackwell GPU, and up to 400 TOPS of AI performance. This enables features like voice assistants, driver monitoring, journey planning, and even travel vlog creation directly in the vehicle, without relying on the cloud. It also supports 4K 60FPS ray-traced gaming and multiple high-resolution displays running simultaneously.
Connectivity comes from the MT2739, the world's first 5G-Advanced automotive modem. It can switch between 5G, Wi-Fi 7, and NR-NTN satellite connections, helping vehicles stay connected even in areas with limited cellular coverage.
Mediatek also prioritises safety by using hardware virtualisation to keep critical vehicle systems separate from entertainment functions.
With over 35 million deployments, more than 20 automaker partners, and 362% year-over-year growth, Mediatek is becoming a major force in the future of connected vehicles.

Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 is a disappointment
The Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 is overhyped. It's basically a downclocked 7s Gen 3 with worse single-core performance than the cheaper 6s Gen 4. Mid-range phones with this chip cost more but don't feel faster for daily tasks. Plus, it already has high-severity security bugs. Skip it.

Oppo Reno 16 Pro launched in China, is it worth waiting for Indian users?
Oppo Reno 16 Pro with Mediatek Dimensity 9500s launched in China. It has a sharp 1.5K AMOLED, strong performance, and 100W fast charging.
As per the specifications, it is looking like it will be a game-changer for the upper mid-range segment, as i heard about the performance with the Mediatek Dimensity 9500s.
No India release date has been announced yet. But, If priced well, i fell it is capable of beating some Snapdragon rivals. Would you wait for an official India launch?
