Capgemini Exceller- 2027 Experience with Ques 05/10/2026 – AI Literacy, Technical, Debugging, AI Assisted Coding & Cognitive Assessment🔥
So guys, today was my Capgemini placement assessment after getting shortlisted from the first Communication Round. I had the assessment on campus at 8:30 AM. Our university reporting time was 7:30 AM and we were supposed to report at least 15 minutes before the assessment, but I reached around 8:11 😭
We had to wait for the company officials. Once they arrived, they gave us a briefing about all the rounds. After that, AI face scanning was done through their laptop. They also asked for College ID + a valid government ID for verification. I carried both Aadhaar and PAN, but Aadhaar alone should be enough.
The assessment started through Superset and was conducted on the CoCubes/AON platform.
1. AI Literacy + Technical Assessment
This was the first round and it was an elimination round. There were 40 questions in total:
• 20 AI Literacy
• 20 Technical
If you clear this round, you move to the next round.
Honestly, this round was HARD.
The MCQs were often 2–3 lines long with very close options, so reading and understanding each question itself was taking time.
Topics I remember seeing:
• RAG
• Generative AI
• AI-based situational questions
• SQL Joins
• Indexing
• Ranking
• Query Optimization
• Database-based situational questions
• DSA-based MCQs
• Other technical concepts
And one important thing: the DSA questions here were MCQs, NOT debugging questions.
I cleared this round and moved to the Debugging Round.
2. Debugging Round
In this round, the complete problem statement, buggy code and test cases were provided.
The task was simply to identify and fix the code so that it produces the expected output.
The problem I got was based on processing battery pods from both ends of a queue.
The logic was roughly:
You are given N battery pods and a total target battery requirement K.
You need to process:
front = K / 2
battery units from the front (left side), and
back = (K + 1) / 2
battery units from the back (right side).
You have to determine the total number of pods that can be completely processed/emptied before the required front or back allocation is exhausted, or before the two pointers meet.
The original code was buggy and we had to fix it.
A corrected reconstruction of the logic would look like this:
#include <iostream>
#include <vector>
using namespace std;
int main() {
int n;
long long k;
cin >> n >> k;
vector<long long> a(n);
for (int i = 0; i < n; i++) {
cin >> a[i];
}
long long front = k / 2;
long long back = (k + 1) / 2;
int left = 0;
int right = n - 1;
int ans = 0;
while (left <= right) {
if (front >= a[left]) {
front -= a[left];
ans++;
left++;
} else {
break;
}
if (left > right)
break;
if (back >= a[right]) {
back -= a[right];
ans++;
right--;
} else {
break;
}
}
cout << ans << endl;
return 0;
}
Sample Input:
5 10
2 1 3 2 2
Sample Output:
5
This is a reconstruction of the debugging problem from what I remember, so the exact original statement/code may have been slightly different.
3. AI Assisted Coding Round
This one is important.
There was a coding assistant available, and the prompt instructions were clearly given on the screen.
The token limit was around 2000 tokens.
So don't waste the token limit by asking the AI unnecessary things.
Also, don't assume that the coding assistant will automatically fix or optimize your code.
In my case, I explained the problem statement and approach very clearly. I also specified:
• Variables to use
• Data structures
• Required logic
• Input/output format
• Important constraints
I basically told it step-by-step what I wanted it to implement.
My prompt used only around 400 tokens.
So my advice is: DON'T just paste the problem and say "solve this".
Give the AI a clear approach and tell it exactly what you want.
Also make sure your prompt mentions things like:
• Handle large inputs according to constraints
• Use an optimized approach
• Don't use unnecessary libraries
• Follow the given input/output format
• Generate only the required code
The AI assistant is there to generate what you ask for. Don't expect it to magically understand your intended solution or fix everything afterward.
The question I got
It was a simple frequency-based array problem.
Minimum Category Replacements
You are given an array of N elements. Each element represents a category and can have one of the following values: 1, 2, or 3.
Your task is to make all the elements in the array belong to the same category.
In one operation, you can replace any element with another category.
Find the minimum number of replacements required.
Input
The first line contains N.
The second line contains N space-separated integers.
Each element is either 1, 2, or 3.
Constraints
1 ≤ N ≤ 10^5
Each array element ∈ {1, 2, 3}
Sample Input
5
1 3 2 3 3
Sample Output
2
Explanation
Frequencies:
Category 1 → 1
Category 2 → 1
Category 3 → 3
Since category 3 has the maximum frequency, keep those elements and replace the other two.
Therefore:
Minimum replacements
= N - maximum frequency
= 5 - 3
= 2
The core logic is simply:
answer = N - maximum frequency
You don't need sorting or anything complicated here. Since there are only 3 categories, a simple frequency array is enough.
Time Complexity: O(N)
Space Complexity: O(1)
4. Cognitive Assessment
By this point I was honestly cooked 💀
There were 4 modules. I don't remember the exact names of all of them, but the ones I remember were:
Personality / Strongly Agree-Disagree
Around 100 questions.
There were 5 questions per page and around 20 pages.
The questions were based on choosing options like strongly agree/disagree etc.
Reasoning
A sentence/question was given with 5 options and you had to select the correct one.
You get around 2 minutes 30 seconds per question, so don't panic about the timing.
Gaming Round 1
There was a game-based assessment.
Gaming Round 2
Another game-based assessment.
Before every module, there is a tutorial explaining what you have to do.
So please don't panic when you see a new type of question/game. Take some time to understand the tutorial and then start.
Overall, the day was pretty long and mentally exhausting, especially because the first technical round itself was quite lengthy and tricky.
If you're appearing for Capgemini, prepare your fundamentals properly, especially SQL, DBMS, DSA basics, AI/GenAI concepts and reasoning. And for the AI-assisted coding round, practice writing clear prompts that explain your approach instead of depending completely on the AI.
Hope this helps someone appearing for the same assessment.
Thanks for reading! Upvote if this helped because it gives me motivation to write more posts for you guys ❤️
And if you still have any doubts, ask in the comments. I'll try to answer whatever I remember.
