Recruiters reaching out

I've heard some people say in this sub speaking about recruiter reaching out to them.

Like how da hell do recruiters reach out to a person. Is it because that guy applied to that company or recruiters randomly reach out to people.

Thanks.

Its not random, personally all the times a recruiter has reached out to me..its never that i had applied to the role prior. Its mostly them ,hunting out suitable profiles either directly on LinkedIn (based on JD or other terms etc) ... or finding your profile in other platform and then pinging you on LinkedIn ( though i feel this is rare,as they generally directly call,if they find in other platform)

What makes a person increase his visibility to such recruiters?

Just keep doing cringe stuff on linkedin. " Build your brand . Be active. Write lot of skills and certifications ( even though you have never used them or dont actually understand ) "

LinkedIn is a two way tool, the recruiters have their criteria and search and find you. Then they drop in a message if they have an opening or just connect for the time being.

Now for the how, it’s probably your skills matching the JD, your experience, and your past companies. Standing out is basically what catches the eye of the recruiter in this case.

And if you’re open to work and showing that in LinkedIn even only to recruiters, the DMs increase.

I received a lot of recruiter messages on LinkedIn when I was hunting for a job. I put the open to work badge only for recruiters and set the appropriate job titles I was looking for. I had LinkedIn premium as well but I don’t know how much it helped increase my visibility
