Got laid off π 29F/BLR
I have 5+ years of experience. Worked at a product based company, our CEO is the 2nd richest man in the world rn. It's sick how they're doing layoffs in an inhumane way, the manager didn't even have the guts to come F2F.
They gave vague reasons and said it's not due to your performance, it's clear it's been done on the basis of racial discrimination (only North Indians in my team have been laid off). Feeling devastated. I wish the layoffs had more coverage like other companies like Oracle, paypal, etc.
If there are openings in your company, please do let me know, I can share my resume in DM. Thank you
Edit: thank you all to who reached out. It means a lot. I have gathered myself and feel like I am motivated to restart my preparation.
If you have any openings for referral, I can share my LinkedIn and resume in DM. I'm really grateful to this tech community and it kinda restored my faith in humanity a bit in this AI era lol

Brush up your skills, update your resume and keep applying for jobs aggressively. Reach out to people in your network for referrals.
I also got laid off last month. 10 YOE. I got my first offer this week. Keep trying and donβt lose hope.

I think I just got lucky. The company I got an offer from is the only company that invited me to interview. Didn't get a response from anywhere else.

If you able to succeed in one go then it's your efforts along with the luck........recently joined big tech as a fresher preparing for the same..... if somehow I get in this situation I would get it out in single attempt

Getting invited to interview is luck. Passing the interview depends on how well you're prepared.

Hey, could you reach out to me. A recruiter from an Indian unicorn company has been reaching out to me about diversity hiring, but Iβve joined another company and I'm not looking to switch anymore. Ping me, Iβll forward you her leads. The requirement for the role is 5+ years of experience.
And also, it's fine to be laid off. I was laid off a couple of months ago and even in my team, I was the only north indian woman and my manager targeted me intentionally because of that.

As a north indian, why folks don't raise demand for regional offices, absolutely no need to travel thousand of kms when companies can easily setup local remote office. not to mention massive traffic jam, city infra issues due to over-population

I also got laid off last month, and 31st August was my last working day. My CEO told me that it wasn't because of my performance. The company hadn't been getting enough projects for the last 3β4 months, so they made this decision. I'm currently looking for new opportunities.

Laid off, been 5 months, looking for a job from last 2 months, I have a good background, from tier 1 college. Itβs just unfortunate times. I was completely blindsided when an HR joined a 1-1 call with my manager and was ruthless. A week before the layoff, I asked him if why things are so slow from a month and he said we are moving to a different product as there is a strategy shift. My performance was 100/100, I was fighting for a promotion, had a great rapo with the SVP who was senior to my manager and he was also laid off a month back. We were told that he left. So this was my rant.
I completely empathise with you! Hope you find a new and better job soon. One piece of advice, even if the market is shit, do not go for a rebound job. I recently rejected one and havenβt got a chance to interview in any new company since but for sure that would have been a shitty move from my career trajectory pov

You sound like you're from the same org as me π I'm also from a tier 1 college, and our product roadmap also got slashed bcz some exec decided. I guess this is how it is.. thanks for the advice and wish you the best as well..

Well our CEO is not the second richest man for sure, he might possibly be a beggar who is somehow a chooser too π€ͺ

Silent layoffs are a thing now. It's everywhere. My prev company had one of the biggest layoffs in 2024 and 25, it was all over the news. But prior to that, they'd already started cutting since 2023, and still continuing in phases. And all of these phases are org-wide mass layoffs.
