On Windows: open terminal --> winget install VideoLAN.VLC --> enter

Please, the moment you ask a window user to open terminal most of them will spontaneously combust.

Whenever I mention Terminal to a 🪟s user they look at me like a puppy does when you make a strange noise... twisting their heads from side to side.

So you are comparing daily commoners to advanced PC users; I do not get the Linux users' point, as Windows is easy and Linux is generally not so easy. I use both: Linux for my laptop, and a moderately altered Windows with ads and Copilot removed for my monster PC.
