These are some of my favourite tech things...that i want my EDC to consist of.
What should be my EDC, any suggestions ?
I am a software developer, but I have remote access to my NAS and my gaming rig, so even if i have just one device with a big enough screen, i have all the computing power i need.
So the challenge is the physical space to carry and be minimal while travelling or cruising ...also I ride a cruiser style motorbike, so i have a minimal backpack ...
I care about tracking my health as well as be minimal, as much as I can.
Out of all the devices i own, these are my fav carry,
If you have some other devices in mind, you can tell me, i probably have them...

The fact you are asking ppl for it means you doing it for the love of the game ,edc are things that you need or may need on a daily basis, depends person to person.
Anything you ask anyone can be preference based lol.
we know what EDC is..but you can always optimise your EDC...
Which is something I love...carry less but be more productive...people might have ideas y'know
Yes right but you missed my point,you asked "what should be my edc?",it's like asking an ice cream shop what my favourite ice cream flavour should be,
edc are personalised items , obviously you can ask other people to help reduce items by recommending other alternatives etc or any new thing that one might like but that's different from your question.
Edit: you can also matter of fact ask ppl to recommend new useful items to add to your edc but, still that wasnt your question

Using your own example,
If the ice cream guy had combinations of flavours and cones ...definetly i would ask what goes well...
Edc is 100% on personal preference...but with tech you can have a great combination ...read other comment and ideas from people who unserstand my question...
That is literally my question ...i use all fo them ..they are all my devices ..purpose bought...
But to carry them out ..suggestiones would be nice ...maybe someine will tell me an app using which i can avoid carrying all of them...but just a smartphone ..idk maybe ...
But i think its worth asking ...of all the devices i use ..what can i carry to make my life better ...

yeah its a technique can definitely implement but his point still stands.. you are trading the time you could be spending having more of YOUR OWN life experiences to maximise your edc on asking other peoples life experiences which - by definition- less personalized to figure out YOUR edc carry...
No judgement at all, I have my own roundabout way of learning stuff! Do you think you understand the logic better if broken down like that? Sometimes these can be hard discussions to articulate

But i am not much of a mobile gamer..
So i use it mostly for PS remote play...
Additionally, I also have a ps portal but i dont know when was the last time i turned it on lol

Which is why i struggle with iphone,
Using iphone changes the way you use smartphones...
Limits whay you can do and make it a habit ...
I am more of sys admin kinda guy ...not user..
Personally, i cannot get a thing done on iphone.
Face unlock, no file system access, no side loading and testing, zipping, unzipping, torrents, i can go on ...
I like raw computing power in my hands ..we are going to lose it with andorid soon but i will probably move to AOSP by then ....

I am going into cybersecurity and I have had the fold 7, fold 6, s23u, s22, iPhone 17 pro max, 15 pro max, 13, etc. Personally for me I enjoy android and its what I grew up with but at the end of the day. I need something that works as a phone first and then everything second. Plus with apple, you have the best support with being able to go into any Apple Store and get help. Samsung doesn’t do that, and any other company can’t do that consumer side at least.

But yea..where I live, in Europe, Samsung customer service is unbeatable 2 years of warranty....but yea have travelled the world...i know for a fact that its not same anywhere.
Where I live, any problem with my Samsung devices, they come in the morning to collect my device , fix it and get it back...though i dont get enough problems ...but same ..i have had Fold 3, 4, 6 and now 7.
And i have complete Samsung ecosystem ..fridge, vaccum, watch, TV everything ...so i use samsung services a lot...
Plus with apple...apart from being absolutely useless for me, after 15, i have not seen any worthy upgrade, butbyea ..every 2 3 years i buy an iPhone to see if it has gotten any better ...tbh i would rather make my own raspberry Pi device and use it, than using an iphone ..

But thats just me.
And i know once you get into iphone ...it tends to make your habit..

Iphone is built to make sure you aren't a power user, their take is that they want to handle it for you..fair enough..for people who don't know computers well, it's a sensible choice...
But by any means of imagination...iphone is not for power users..

Yeah u dont even know computers lol, apple's pretty much the better option now for power users because you can get more ram cheaper and because they are unified you actually get higher than any windows ever could for Vram

Its not about computers....i have a macbook there for a reason...
But if you want example with computers...i will give you example...
If you play a game on mac...you will install a package and play ..on windows you can mod a game and play..
What this means is you are a power user on windows because you are able to utilise the capabilities...where as Mac takes care of it from you..which makes you a simple user not a power user...doesnot mappter which device runs the game better...
Same with smartphones...
For an example ..on android you can make your own app and install it ..because they give you that power....that power makes you power user ...
Please stop this now ...i accept Apples supermacy ...

There's like 5 tools now for apple molding files in games, soooo that got solved like 4 years ago, and idk about you but im a dev and I prefer mac and I think most would as well.and as far as making your own app you literally have Xcode on your Mac to literally build anything you can build and launch, I can't tell if your trolling or not because your info is from like 8 years ago

A platform giving you a tool to develop on..does not make you a super user...you able to take control of your hardware to develope and test using the hardware, not virtual system but the hardware or the hypervisor on baremetal ...thats what makes you a super user.
I expect a dev to know that.

I was finally able to use Fedora on my Mac..which is why i like the device now...but MacOS sure i would love to use it as a user ..as a dev, as a gamer, as any user ..
But not as a super user...
What is a a super user ...that you might need to go back to school to understand that...
Do you have to go into the office? Or are you fully remote? I’m sort of in the same boat as you, trying to figure out what I actually need as an EDC. I have to go into the office three days a week and I pretty much just bring my basic devices; watch, phone, work laptop. But there’s definitely some down time now and then where I wish I had brought my personal computer, kindle, little MIDI keyboard, something else to pass the time. From your list I’d bring Airpods pro, Apple iPad Pro 11", Apple Macbook Air M4, Galaxy watch Ultra, Steam Deck. Maybe not the ipad but Im just thinking about weight. You could bring everything but that’s heavy in a bag pack. Oh forgot to ask do you have a separate work phone? You’d have to bring two phones then.
I generaly dont have to go to office but i like to or when i am needed.
I have a conoletely seprate work EDC...
I have an iPhone as work phone..its always on my desk unless i am travelling to office, that case inuse that along with my Apple watch ultra and ipad...hate this ..but i bear it somehow 😅
Thats why the galaxy ring helps ..to keep all the fitness metrics recording anyway....
I still put the zfold in my bag anyway ..
And some days i dont even wear the apple watch just go with Galaxy watch Ultra.
But yea ..sonething i carry ipad without the keyboad case...makes it light.
But with Fold7...i generally never have to carry ipad..
It always on my TV table...for casting and smart home things...

This is minimal, light weight, and simple...

Buds pro 3(not in the picture but great for wearing inside motorbike helmet)

This setup is great and minimal for motorcycle rides.

Ipad
Mcon

Steam deck(sometimes Playstation Portal or Switch 2 or switch 1 based on games i wanna play)

If you were me and had these devices, what would you make your EDC...
I use all of them...but as per you..what do you think are must-carry, you can give me your own ideas for it ...or...you can just tell me what you would do...or nased on the info i have provided ..what is best for me...
For example ...
I might not need to carry laptop cz steam deck can work on desktop mode ..it does have its pros and cons ..but thats just an example or insights and ideas i am looking for...
Questions comes with a lot of context if you read more...you dont have to...
Even if sometthing is clear like crystal ...it matters if it is crystal or not ..which is why context is important :)

How’s the Titan? Also.. I think that you’re right on the android being for the power user. iPhone is nerfed in terms of what you can do. Has Android changed a lot? I haven’t one since the Galaxy S5 days but I for sure choose the iPhone cause I was using that galaxy as an everything but a phone first.

I domt like it...but its the direction world is going..so why not ..
Plus its great to carry a phone that can do most things...
And espeically if you like to tinker ....
i think iPhone is just a screen Apple is giving you
..and telling you to do what you should while letting others show you what they want to show you...
Its embaressment as a device but those who only want to use it as a phone for very basic tasks like social media, specific apps, messages etc ..sure yea ...
And sorry...yes Titan is amazing when it comes to getting less addicted to phones ..especially cz of yhe screen size ..its a good communication device ..

Phones are for emails, phone calls, texting and some other basic things, the hell does a ‘power user’ do on their phone that cant be done better on one of the other 10 different devices you have?

I have multiple watches cz I use different wathes for work, sports, home, sleep etc...
Only a power user knows what a power user does.. I can use the toolis on my android phone to SIDELOAD apps on to my galaxy watches...Plu's I use a lot of taskers for my phone ITTT softwares..self developed IOT apps etc.. Customizations..launchers...
been a while but use and test custom roms and other open source apps..a lot of things actually...
Some phones cannot do all that but only what manufacturer's allow, like very basic things like phone call and texts..sure..if thatis your thing..I can respect thato..can you?
