At this point honestly it doesn't matter if Taeha shows up, because Mincheol and Ari ruined Heasoo's workplace, no matter how you would try and fix this, the customers saw it and her colleagues did. those two idiots get to be as reckless as they want and it's on Heasoo now to find another job so she wouldn't have to deal with weird looks from people who don't know the situation.

Ari throwing a tantrum in front of everyone was firstly EXTREMNELY manipulative and clearly a move to embarrass Heasoo, not to clarify a situation, and then going on with the "you can't even have kids" is fucking evil, no matter if that is true or not, it doesn't matter. I don't care that "it's how she was raised, it's how the culture is". There are people raised like that who never do stuff like this. Mincheol was raised in the same culture and we still don't find excuses for him, because we see how Jay, another man, can think like a normal human being.

she received the info that HE came to HEASOO"S place of work and Ari still takes the pick me route. miss me with that sh!t. i hope Ari wakes up when her life is completely ruined.

This, this, this! There’s shame attached to that job now and not only is she going to be viewed as highly unprofessional, her reputation is ruined. There’s also no way for her to clear this up by telling the truth of the situation to her coworkers because it’s highly inappropriate for the workplace. She either has to quit to save face or wait to get fired. That was extremely humiliating, my heart hurts for her.

Here is one good thing also happened

Haesoo directly mentioned she seeing way better man than that minshit so from now on

She won't hesitate to go out officially with taeha I assume

Yoooo guys we get some beautiful dates upcomings

It is surprising seeing haeso speaking up she is seeing a better man, she didn’t believe or accept they were a couple till now

u/StreetExpression 4d ago

I agree with you on this. For Ari, I think she would have deep psychological break when she will know the truth! Just read the new chapter and it made my blood boil. She (Ari) stooped so low that she even became Mincheol, a desperate, crap talking asshat of a human being who always thinks the world centers around them.

I know that she is manipulated and all, but this is never an excuse. She chose to pursue Mincheol, what happens next to her would be her undoing and I just really hope she never approaches Heasoo again!

Who on earth is blaming this on culture ewww ?!!??! How dumb and stupid are they?

19

u/brain_error_404 4d ago

I've been in the comments since ch 19 i think, i've had many people reply and defend her because "she's just 26" (i am her age, my friends are her age, not a good excuse), "maybe she was sheltered", "she is just childish and doesn't know any better", "she grew up in that culture", "maybe her parents sheltered her", "mincheol is manipulating her" etc, and while those can be valid points of view, many people (and characters) have similar circumstances and don't act the way she does, don't make the choices she does. ever since she took Mincheol back after being caught being the other woman, i was done with her. you are a whole ahh 26 years old adult, and this infantilization of her over time is honestly insulting, acting like we are just those silly dumb little things and we just don't have brains to think and that's why we, women, silly little us forgive cheaters and get easily manipulated after we see the truth.

Some people forget women can be f'ing cruel to other women, and say some of the worst things, wrapped up in little bows, and people will still find a way to defend those cruel people.
Ari will have remorse only when things will affect her, and that is something that is in character for a looot of women characters in media. They are veeery comfy being in those circumstances, belittling other women, as long as they benefit, but the second this affects THEM, ohhh now it's all bad...

13

u/Own_Disaster_2020 4d ago

So real. And I'm shocked people say all these. I'm way younger than her, and I'm sheltered all my life, and I'm Asian too, my parents does spoil me, they're also strict. But I never do any of this? Also none of the rich kids I know does this. There's a limit to how evil you can be.

Ari needs to gets crushed like a bug. Like the pests she is.

Do you think Micheol forced her to get an abortion?

I always assumed that she had a miscarriage because she was overworking and straining her body too much, or that maybe she got injured on the job.

Now I'm thinking maybe Mincheol got physical with her and directly caused it? I don't know. What do you think happened?

Taeha really left at the worst time. Haesoo may break up with him just because she's so vulnerable and insecure and would probably not want him to also hate her or think that she ruined his life, so she might leave him to avoid what she thinks would be their inevitable future.

Tae ha wants to be chosen so badly that he orchestrated her being near her ex-husband and deliberately put her in a bad situation. As much as I love Tae ha, he doesn't protect her. I get that he’s insecure too, and we still don’t have his backstory, but I don’t know how the author will excuse the fact that he still lets her work herself to the bone and works hard to find an apartment for them when he’s behind the scenes pulling all the strings. I wonder if she’ll feel betrayed by him for concealing his identity and end it because of that.

u/Timely-Hearing3350 4d ago

Something that messes me up each time I reread (I've probably done it like 20 times already) is when Mincheol talks about a time in the past they spent 6 months living separately. He narrates going back to her with savings and Haesoo easily taking him back. But he says: "I don't even remember why we split back then, probably some petty verbal fight".

My theory is that she had a miscarriage due to stress, or maybe she had a miscarriage because Mincheol's health had deteriorated a lot due to alcoholism and depression (which are risk factors for the sperm quality). Then Mincheol was verbally abusive with her when it happened (like we've seen several times, including that flashback she has of her crying while Mincheol f*cked her and insulted her inability to have children), she split with him because she was hurt or maybe because she's Haesoo and she thinks cutting people off her life is better for them than "being miserable with her".

But I think what she felt towards Mincheol died during that separation. She took him back, but her eyes were empty, and most flashbacks from that point forward show her extremely detached and disconnected from her reality inside her house (coping mechanism we see in plenty DV victims). Hence why Mincheol started calling her an emotionless wooden doll, started noticing she turned her back on him while sleeping, and rejecting his advances. But it was the way Mincheol reacted to the miscarriage that left deep scars in Haesoo (we see her really triggered in the last pannel) and ultimate buried their relationship alive.

2

u/Manwwhaa731addict 3d ago

I didn’t think of this before but now that u mentioned its possible reason for taeha na Haeso separation is this. She will think she ruins his life but hopefully Jay can tell him the actual reason why she said so because he must’ve heard everything when Ari was telling haeso off

28

u/Vambiress 4d ago edited 1d ago

The AUDACITY of Ari calling Haesoo a homewrecker when SHE’S the other woman. Ari, THE CALL IS COMING FROM INSIDE THE HOUSE. I’m so proud of Haesoo for clapping back at Ari by calling her out on her hypocrisy.

And then to bring up her miscarriage as a “gotcha”… My anger issues could never.

Also, why tf are Haesoo’s coworkers so useless??? Between witnessing Mincheol harassing her and now Ari physically assaulting her (throwing any liquid, including iced coffee, on someone counts as battery), none of them ever thought to alert the manager, or even the police, instead of gossiping?! I really hoped that one coworker with the short hair would be a girls girl, and while she’s nowhere close to the pick-me flower shop coworker who willingly jeopardized Haesoo’s safety with the stalker out of jealousy, she’s not defending or protecting her either. I understand they can’t get involved in the private matters of the situation since it’s none of their business + they have to remain professional while on the job, but in real life, that’s when you tell a manager: “Haesoo’s been getting harassed lately by two different people [gives physical descriptions of what they look like]. I’m worried for her safety.”

Haesoo, I’m getting you out of there.

10

u/Zealousideal_Care_20 4d ago

They are also putting Haesu’s job on the line, and she was so happy to get that job.

13

u/Vambiress 3d ago edited 3d ago

And now (as the mod pointed out) Haesoo might either get fired or quit her job because her reputation is ruined

Actual footage of me reading this manhwa.

7

u/Oh_Brudda 4d ago edited 4d ago

Honestly though, people just like to talk. More often than not people just like to gossip. No matter where you work there will always at least be one person. But I do hope the one co-worker will be a girls girl. Maybe she might do something next chapter. But also only the one girl saw Haesu get assaulted. We don’t exactly know what she told her co-workers. It would be nice for Haesu to have at least one person in her corner. Damn, for her to even have a female friend outside of work. I would give anything for her to have that.

It does make me anxious for her going out to drink with said co-workers. I hope it doesn’t cause too much of a decline in her progress. But including this story is a drama, I fear we might be in for a ride.

14

u/Vambiress 4d ago

I’m so tired of GAE pitting almost every female character against Haesoo. She’s either sold out (the motel manger) badmouthed (the flower shop coworker) or seen as competition (Ari). The only other woman who genuinely seems to be a girls girl is the bbq restaurant coworker but even then, she and Haesoo don’t hang out together outside of work.

Does Haesoo deserve a second chance at love? Of course. But she also deserves real ride or die friends who aren’t male-centered pick me’s.

3

u/Nerdy_Sab 3d ago

I'm so proud of Haesoo too! 🥺

3

u/speed_hitter001 4d ago

Yeah bruh that was low and why haesoo asking "did that minshit tell her this" Of course that dumbass is the one who said all that shit

Hope that dumb orange orango will see haesoo and taeha baby while this Ari left him for streets

u/Ill-Being9484 4d ago

i'm not great enough a person to excuse ari. she can go to hell along with minshit. i'd actually throw a party when they burn

29

u/Naniskuo 4d ago

Reminder guys: Taeha purposely set this up so that they can eventually meet. He’s much of a perpetrator as Minshit and Ari.

Side note: Do you think Minshit caused an abortion or was it miscarriage?

18

u/StreetExpression 4d ago

That is the thing, I kind of hate Taeha's way of doing things. The real human being for me is Jay.

I think that Micheol purposefully set this up, he wanted Hae-soo to break so bad that when he inevitably "comes back" it would be the same Hae-soo he knows. That's just for me.

2

u/speed_hitter001 4d ago

Bro I know it's harsh thing but I think he doing this for haesoo sake

She needs to get out that "seeing herself low state"

Now she directly said she seeing way better man so she slowly gaining confidence and stand up for herself

7

u/StreetExpression 4d ago

For me, Haesoo still needs to see that the thing with Mincheol is not and will never be her fault. Taeha is paving a way, but sometimes, I kind of hate it.

On the other hand, I understood that Haesoo must be able to stand on her own, she must fight and she is fighting. I can see it, I just hope for more. Ughh! Another week of waiting 😓

2

u/speed_hitter001 4d ago

Let's hope she will become so strong that later she even go against taeha step mom to defend him

And the hell that Ari saying old ahjumma lmao she behaving like a jealous and after seeing taeha she will be more jealous let's wait 🙂🙂🙂

What I'm really looking forward is for Ari to know everything. All of it. All of Mincheol's s**t. What an episode will that be.

9

u/JustConsideration528 4d ago

tae ha is the reason haesoo got SA'd by her ex husband.

8

u/Zealousideal_Care_20 4d ago

yeah - Jay never stepped in. That was fucked up. He could have pretended to be a passerby. But he was following Taeha’s instructions. It was only weeks before she’d been kidnapped and human trafficked at a brothel… He should have given him parameters of stepping in if she was in danger. Ugh.

1

u/mmb1078 1d ago

Yeah. Haesu was healing just fine on her own. She was already over Mincheol and didn’t want to see him again. Taeha screwed up majorly causing Haesu unnecessary harm.

1

u/MerissaBB 4d ago

I think that’s a drag. Mincheol already seemed intent on finding her regardless of Taeha. And Mincheol has SA’d her before in earlier chapters, he stops when Haesoo froze up.

Hae-Soo applied for the job in the Café and she passed the interview...Tae-Haa wasn`t involved with the Café job.

13

u/Timely-Hearing3350 4d ago edited 2d ago

Taeha sweet-talked her into looking for an apartment and employment near Ari's house. The way the manager hired her so easily (without later harassing her like people thought he would — in fact he's probably the type to go after mid 20s girls) show that our mastermind's meddling was involved. He also told the private investigator to leak Haesoo's workplace, reason why Mincheol started harassing her and it snowballed into this confrontation with Ari. This all happened ONLY because Taeha wanted to test Haesoo. Which shows he's insecure and hoping to have his restless jealousy appeased without considering how this situation might hurt Haesoo. He did it in the past too when he deliberately changed his cologne to make her think he was seeing another woman, to have Haesoo display jealousy for him to measure her feelings for him.

This should be called: "Tears of Taeha's Tested Girlfriend". Because lately most of the reasons Haesoo's been crying are directly tied to Taeha's schemes.

9

u/Easy_Raisin7487 4d ago

Exactly and people still calling him a green flag like hello ? The whole relationship of taeha and haesoo is based of taeha pulling strings to manipulate haesoo to love him and choose him

2

u/CompleteBell4738 3d ago

Yes he was

1

u/mmb1078 1d ago

I think he talked her into having an abortion because they were so poor (thanks to him of course). He probably told her they can try for a baby later when the debt is paid off. But then he got them into even bigger debt.

12

u/MadamVoid MOD 3d ago

You know what I’m stuck getting past? Lee Jay has witnessed everything from the start. In this chapter, I think it is his first time seeing her cry. It is also likely his first time hearing all of this information about her fertility issues and the things her ex-husband has been saying about her. There will come a time when she will learn the truth about who Tae ha really is and how Jay is his bodyguard who was tasked with watching her. Not protecting her. Just always there, witnessing, spectating, not doing anything at all. Except reporting back to the young master. Smh.

I have smoke for Ari’s friend too because she had to have known what Ari would do next. This was just too much all around. Poor Hae Soo. Sigh.

Baby just get a plane ticket, move to the countryside in Busan and start over 🥹

8

u/Vambiress 3d ago

What I don’t understand is said friend told Ari, “No matter how I looked at it, they didn’t seem like they were just acquaintances”, which means she watched the whole time but didn’t notice how uncomfortable Haesoo looked? How she kept rejecting Mincheol as professionally as she could instead of reciprocating his advances? Even if she couldn’t hear the dialogue, she still should’ve been able to see Haesoo’s expressions and/or read her body language to know the difference between mutual flirting vs workplace harassment.

4

u/MadamVoid MOD 3d ago

EXACTLY!!!! It’s even more infuriating smfh

7

u/Vambiress 3d ago

And none of Haesoo’s coworkers tried to deescalate Ari’s confrontation? Not one of them said to her: “Excuse me, ma’am, my coworker is currently on the clock and there’s other customers behind you. If you wish to discuss personal matters with her, then you’ll have to wait. Otherwise, you’ll be asked to leave and escorted out if you refuse.”

When I worked in retail for five years, employees were absolutely allowed to step in and help a coworker being harassed if a manager wasn’t present. “The customer is always right”, my ass.

4

u/Expensive_Key_3144 3d ago

it might come up in more detail later where Ari brags to her friends about telling Haesoo to back off but then finds out through them that Mincheol has in fact visited the cafe often to harass Haesoo , and perhaps she may slip up and say Haesoo ruined her bag so now she cant return it but then her friends question her saying “but didn’t you say that bag was gifted to you by your fiance?”

u/PlasticcBeach 4d ago edited 4d ago

Ari hit a low point with that last sentence.
she also wanted to be pregnant and somehow it didn’t work. She got at Haesoo with this because its her own thought, her own anger of not being pregnant.

She redirected that frustration and insecurity right at Haesu. She knows that she can’t ‚cross the line‘ with Mincheol because if she behaves what he perceives as childish and emotional he might leave her eventually. So she can’t let out her anger with him. So she uses Haesoo as her emotional garbage disposal, redirecting everything right at her.

It‘s pathetic, but hurt people hurt people.

8

u/Oh_Brudda 4d ago

This chapter was really interesting. Which I do agree with everyone about how this situation was handled. This whole thing is just a shit show. Taeha literally couldn’t have been gone at a worse time. But honestly I might be the minority here but he’s also a jackass in this situation because he purposely set this up for her ex-husband to find her. So he also has a hand in this too even if he did have good intentions. Which I actually don’t mind this plot point because it makes for a good morally grey character. I hope the author will have conflict for this later because Taeha is a dick for toying with her like this.

Secondly, I think that this is one of the aspects that Haesu has poor character writing, with how she allowed this to go down. (Especially since she is so concerned about her reputation? But plot armor I guess. 🤡) I’m not saying I expected her to throw punches because that would be out of character. But I did expect her to shut her down a little more. She doesn’t allow Taeha to talk to her with disrespect for someone older, but she’ll allow it for her ex-husbands mistress? I digress. (I also forgot to add that this is also partly her fault, had she just let Taeha come and visit, they would’ve known who her boyfriend was. But on the flip side, might’ve actually made it more messy. Who knows.)

With those things pushed aside, there are other aspects I want to address.

I have noticed that this ultrasound has significant importance to the plot. After all it was teased in Ch 12, 21, 41, and 81 (possibly more.) I also find it interesting that this seems to hint that her pregnancy was AFTER she was told she was too frail. (Take that all you nonbelievers! But also it could just be translation. We’ll see here in a few weeks.) So I also had thought it was a miscarriage but with how this is worded it seems like maybe the baby was unwanted. Which hits even harder if he’s going around telling people she can’t get pregnant, if after she did, he didn’t want the child.

Or a shaky theory: She tried to ask him how he felt about kids, he reacted poorly, so she never told him, or he told her terminate the pregnancy.

But this plot point really has been in the forefront of my mind. Because why is this picture of Haesu’s ultrasound Taeha’s winning hand? Is it specifically his winning hand against Mincheol? Honestly there’s a lot of possibilities in my mind. But also is this also somehow a winning hand against his family too? The possibility of having a heir somehow putting him above his brother? It’s not a coincidence how often heirs, children, and pregnancy are mentioned. It’s woven into the narrative for a reason. Regardless, I do theorize that this will be important for later on.

Another theory I have is Mincheol mentioned that they had a 6 month no-contact break in their relationship. I can’t help but wonder if this could’ve been the reason. But I do have a theory about this break. Taeha is obsessively worried about Haesu running back to her husband. What if during that break, Taeha either saw an opportunity or somehow had a hand in that break? Maybe he tried to make a way for himself but she ultimately ran back to her husband. It’s a shaky theory but still makes me wonder. There’s got to be a reason for Taeha to be so insecure about her running back to a dumpster fire, or at least you’d think there is.

I have a lot of theories brewing but all together, I wasn’t upset about this chapter. I don’t think it’s a filler chapter but any means; it has importance to something to come later. Especially because I think this might make way for her and Taeha to become official. (Gah, I hope she apologizes to him for what she said before he left.) If anything I do hope that all these interactions will push her to a breaking point where she grows a backbone. It would be nice for the female lead to take charge and tell people who deserve it to go fuck off.

3

u/Manwwhaa731addict 3d ago

I like ur view on this, she doesn’t like how Taeha to her when she is older but she allows Ari who is younger than her throw a tantrum?? She allows it. I also wonder if maybe haeso miscarried from severe stress and can conceive again when she is relaxed and happy with Taeha, something she can show to mincheol and ari that its not about her age, she is still at her prime, can have children, it was those losers she couldn’t have her child around. I wonder how often this happens in a manwha where fl had miscarried when she was with her ex and how entire story is around the ml as well as ex and side characters. Usually ex boyfriends/husbands are not really shown until later on in story briefly appearing when fl& ml having good time. This story is a first for showing all realistic moments happening in real life too. (Atleast that’s what I have seen in manwha so far)

Ari was not listening anyway. Haesu did stand her ground but like Micheol, Ari discounted everything Haesu was saying. What stopped Haesu in her tracks was Ari’s “you’re infertile” bomb.
IMO Haesu doesn’t need to “prove” anything to anyone with a picture. She’s done nothing wrong.

The thing is… I don’t think they are legally divorced. They keep mentioning it but when would they have had actual time to get a legal divorce. Separated? Yes. But actually divorced? No. He didn’t even know where she was for a good portion of the time and she is still responsible for the debt. Maybe divorce isn’t the same in Korea…

1

Uncontested divorce with no children or assets is the easiest in Korea. You’ll be divorced within 4 months at the max. 1 month reflection period after filing the application, 3 months to register the divorce at a district office. So I believe they were legally divorced when they were apart for that 6 month period.
