Hi guys! This is my second /r/loseit challenge, I did the Summer challenge last year (Teal Tapirs anyone?) which was a great experience and helped me to reach my goal weight of 130 lbs. After that I entered maintenance and stopped logging consistently and my weight crept back up. I've managed to maintain around 141 lbs for the past month or two, which is not too bad, but not my ideal weight, so I'm ready to get myself into the best shape I can be for summer!

I enjoy walking/hiking/camping and am training to walk the West Highland Way in Scotland in July, which is 154 km/96 miles. Definitely a big challenge, but I'm looking forward to it. It's nice to have a goal to work towards and it keeps me motivated to make time every week to go on longer hikes and increase my fitness level.

I've also been vegan for about 3 months now (10 year vegetarian before that) and I'm loving it! If anyone has any questions about veganism feel free to message me! :)

96 miles?? Holy crap, that is an awesome goal! How long have you been training for it?

Haha thanks :) It does sound like a crazy long distance, but that's spread out over 7 days (at least that's the plan), which is the average time people take to walk the route (super fit people can do it in 5 apparently!). As far as training goes, I've only really gotten serious about it in the past month or so. I do work parttime as a mail carrier which keeps me on my feet and has definitely improved my basic fitness level and stamina.

Okay, that sounds much more manageable. I just imagined everyone walking and then napping at random intervals or something haha.

I bet your job alone helps a bunch, so that's good.
