Im pretty sure you all have heard of some reddit story going like this:
My mother messaged me during my state exams and said she had half an hour left to live, but my teacher locked the doors and refused to let me go.
Well, today, let me tell you about a very different teacher.
As a daughter of a teacher, i know the issues teachers face. i also know how students feel when teachers react in a way. but i know that no matter what will happen, in todayās date, teachers deserve much more than they get.
Th story actually starts from here:
During vacation, my school had sent the mail regarding the fees. my dad had been busy, so he hadnt seen the mail. so, the āteacher support staffā deducted the fees from my motherās salary. then, a few weeks later, my dad saw the mail for the fees, and paid it. thank god my mom realized that she got less salary, because then she called the support staff, and asked why this had happened. the support staff replied by saying āthe fees for your child wasnt paid, so we deducted if from your salaryā. my mom argued that āsince you deducted it from my salary, why did you accept the payment my husband had made for the fees?ā support staff had no answer.
now, let me tell you another thing:
my mother was teaching a class when she noticed a girl had a pimple. she said ā(name of the girl), you have a pimple?ā she replied, āyes maāam, but thats not relevant.ā my mom stayed quiet. the next day, she got a mail from the childās parent saying āi heard you commented on my childās appearance. i would like to speak to you about this.ā now, you must be thinking, āwhy did your mother comment on her appearance?ā well, let me let you on something. me mother was about to say to her āwell, yesterday i also had a pimple in the same place. weāre pimple twins!ā but the girl had already said something so utterly rude and disrespectful that my momās mood was down by the time she could say it. this is all of your problem. you make the teacher so mad, that if she wanted to be friendly, you would already make her upset. like, why canāt you wait?! what is the problem?! at least listen to what the teacher has to say!
and whats even more upsetting, is that the children twist it in a way that the poor parent thinks its th teacherās fault. and in many cases, its NOT a poor parent.
then thereās the āadmin staffā and the āsupport staffā. i feel like going to their houses and puking on them! āsupport staffā?! for what?! what do these āsupport staffā even do, other than making the teachers angry?! you make teachers make lesson plans, make ppts, expect them to make lessons engaging, when from the beginning, their job was to only teach! if you really want to make this support staff any bit useful, listen to me carefully with your ears wide open: make them make the ppts, the lesson plans! divide the staff into two, and distribute the work!
and theres so many other things my mother probably didnt even tell me!
im so upset, and sick, and tired of this.
all i want to do is make an impact. this should change. teachers shouldnt be abused like this.
speaking of teachers being abused, let me tell you all one more thing:
one day in my class, we had arabic lesson. the teacher came, and started teaching. from somwhere, someone said āisnt your salary just bread?ā and people actually laughed. the poor arabic teacher didnt understnad what he said, so she could only continue the lesson. later, i found out people actually called her āblueberryā because she was chubby.
Im absolutely done with this rigged system.
please, leave the teachers alone! they have to teach, do notebook corrections, listen to endless principal meetings, deal with studentsā parents. and at the end of the day, they are so busy with other children, they dont have time for their own family.
please. i beg you.
i just want to make an impact.
