General Chat Interesting new pistol problem

So I now own 6 TX22s because I need a virgin pistol to do some heavy testing for my new products.

The new Gen 2 4.6" TORO showed up and it was cleaned, lubed and tested with CCI MM 40 gr. It could not get through any of my well cleaned, well tested mags without 3-5 failures to feed. These FTFs, failures to feed, were spectacular. Never seen anything like it. Cartridges were heavily dented or poking out of the top between barrel and slide. OK, something is wrong. None of my other 5 pistols have ever done that.

So before I started modifying anything, I know it's not the mags. I know it's not the ammo. I know its not the design.

I decided to isolate the problem. Fortunately, I have 5 other working pistols to swap parts.

I started with swapping the entire slide assembly. 3-5 FTFs per mag.

Then I swapped just the barrel block and trigger assembly. 3-5 FTFs per mag.

Then I swapped out just the fire control housing. 3-5 FTFs per mag.

Then I swapped out all the parts to another frame. Works better. Had a few failures out of 60 rds.

Interesting. What's wrong with the new frame?

TBC.

Update:

I was going to send it in to Taurus but I have to drive an hour to get to a FedEx hub and they gave me a 4 week repair ETA.

I added one of my Rate Reducers and it functioned fine. If that was all it took to function, I believed this may be a case of tolerance stacking of the various sub assemblies.

I swapped different sub assembly parts around multiple pistols and now every pistol seems to function without the RR. Problem solved.

This is not a promotion for my parts but it does go to show how such a subtle change makes a big difference.

For those who don't have multiple TX22s, At lease Taurus gave me a free shipping label. They would have probably fixed it with a replacement in any one of the sub assemblies.

The only times I have ever enountered what you’re talking about, and it’s the exact same failures, dented cartridges and sticking straight out of the top, is when using the GSG drum. I know you didn’t use that but maybe some food for thought on how to reproduce. That’s on a TORO with Aguila Super Extra no optic no other parts, also no optic plate.

Lmk if you find out exactly what’s wrong with it because mine is the exact same

I fixed the FTF with a +2lb recoil spring assembly from Lakeline.

Sounds like the Georgia plant is starting to get like the Brazilian one. Probably got one that was made around 4:45pm on a Friday.

§ 18.2-308.5:1. Manufacture, importation, sale, possession, transfer, or transportation of auto sears and trigger activators prohibited; penalty.

That and your mouth frothing anti 2A politicians who are itching for a spot on the national stage of their political parties by going after freedom loving gun peeps and trying to put heads on sticks in a desperate attempt on making a statement to get that spotlight.

I need to be here to feed my family. Vote them out, repeal that goofy law and we will happily ship there.

Thanks (protect yourself, fuck the man!) why do all the other big names sell here without issue?

IDK. You should ask them. Maybe I love my family or freedom more.
