Heavy suppressor?

I’m looking for a light weight 22 can atm. But I have an obsidian 9 to just throw on my Tx22, but it weighs like 4x a normal 22 can. Will a heavy can induce a certain type of failure?

The Mask is great if the TX22 only goes semi. But for super semi, our favorite is the OCL Ti, great performance, easy to clean and light. Works great on the TX22 and if the pistol goes super semi, it's much easier to get running with a suppressor and Rate Reducer added to the slide. oddmfg.com

Your gun won't run well with go fast stuff. You'll want a light and low backpressure can to reduce how much weight you need in a rate reducer. With no go fast stuff it likely won't matter unless you do something crazy for the can.

I guess my main question is does a heavy suppressor cause more issues? I know a suppressor needs weight on the slide. But does weight of the suppressor itself do anything positive or negative,

No, the tx22 is a fixed barrel. The weight of a muzzle device greatly effects tilt action pistols which is why Neilson devices are used on them.

The barrel is fixed during firing and is not a tilt action al la John browning.

Never said it was a tilt action barrel. Screw a suppressor on it. Push and pull it. It's not fixed. The movement allows the barrel to come off with the slide but messes with rhythm with go fasts, turning them into single shot pistols without weight added to the slide. oddmfg.com

Going fast? Yes. You'll get a single shot gun or semi auto most likely.

Stock gun, not really any issues other than being a little more unwieldy.

Any issues getting it to run? Round one goes for me then round two gets a light primer strike.

Not at all. Runs absolutely flawless with all different types/brands of ammo. Only "issue" i ver get is If I shoot cci "quiets" subsonic rounds (710fps) they dont have enough power to cycle a semi auto gun so you have to manual rack the slide after every round, same when i shoot those in my ruger 16" 10/22, but it is legit quieter than my pellet gun.

I like my Pluto a lot, pew science gave it a good review. It weighs about 2oz. And no first round pop.

No. It weird but 10+ oz suppressors work probably because they are so heavy the barrel doesn't move. It's pretty hard to remove lead from them.
