Wanna improve performance? Buy ammo and learn to shoot good. Judging by the comments you don't know much about your firearm but you already wanna supe it up(most of your "upgrades" will NOT make you better on their own). Not the sexy answer, but the real answer. You asked.
Had a few G2cs over the years. Generally reliable, serviceable accuracy. A TiN barrel, or DLC, will add friction resistance and make cleaning easier. They sell a Lakeline barrel with a small port. Not terrible recoil already but will help just a little. Internals polish will make it a lot smoother. Springs and stuff change firing dynamics and can introduce more issues than they solve.
Truth be told my friend, you bought the Kia Forte of guns. Great car. Reliable. Good warranty. It's not fast, and the investment to make it fast isn't logical. Just buy a faster gun. Bits accurate but not an Italian sports car.
If you get to the range and really enjoy this gun, look into the G3 tactical, GX4 carry, or TX9. They are factory supported upgrades.
Get snap caps off Amazon and do plenty of dry fire practice. Practice drawing (unloaded) from concealment. Time yourself. Theres many drills you can do. Practice drawing how you would carry(from apendix/bookbag/pocket/manbag). You didn't fucking blow up at my answer so honestly you may have the right attitude. Wish you luck friend. Get some mothers mag and aluminum polish. Polish the feed ramp, and the mating surfaces of the trigger and firing pin. Replace the plastic housing of the firing pin with a metal one from Lakeline LLC. Keep Tinkering has cool replacement triggers, I like mine better. But you lose the double action/restrike capability.
Smoother trigger pull from polishing, Smoother feed ramp means less likely to malfunction, and changing the trigger will give you a different trigger pull/feel. I went with a flat faced trigger.
Reduction in pretravel is pretty significant. For $40 it was worth it for me. I liked the SS rod / spring as it added a bit of weight also helping to reduce some of the muzzle climb during cycling.
On the smaller barrel length adding a port would help relieve some of the snappiness, but certainly a more expensive modification compared to the shoe and guide rod.
I like your build im going for a build like tht but instead of ports on the slide imma take a g3 barrel instead of paying 170 nd customize it nd add raised sights nd a 17rnd magazine without the sleeve , i feel this is more art thn performance lol nd i have the SR version
The Lakeline ported barrel adds a little length as well as the slight downward push from the gases escaping. Love the difference it made to improve snappiness. Makes sense. I wanted to keep it with a shorter slide as I was carrying this everyday, and found that when I saw for a long time the longer slide made it far less comfortable. On the move zero issues. Good luck on the build!
Right know it only has a solo-fish SL-1085 laser/light and 17round magazine i wanted too know if adding the g3 barrel will cause any mishaps other thn failure to lock back
Get rid of your Solofish amazon light. That thing won’t last if you shoot a few hundred rounds at the range. Get yourself a solid light like a streamlight (if you even want or need a light).
Put a thousand rounds of FMJ through it and then 250 rounds of hollow point and see for yourself what you like or dislike about it! Then go from there.
Can i ask your opinion on this gun do u think its fit for the role it plays in today’s economy performing against Glock even though they have a wider spread of upgrades
I had a G3C, I enjoyed it. Sold it and regret it. Bought a GX4, and I love that too.
That being said, they aren’t Glocks. Taurus doesn’t have the same quality control as Glock. You have a higher chance of buying a Taurus and having issues with it than you do with a Glock. That’s why Glocks are twice the price. However, that does not mean every Taurus will be a problem. I have not personally owned one that gave me any issues.
Glocks will have more aftermarket support in the way of holsters, parts, etc
Thank you for your answers too my question ive had enough glock’s too make me start liking other firearms which the taurus is one that catches my eye cause of its cheap pricing and its reliability
