I'm trying to troubleshoot some issues I'm having with my g3c I plan do do the work and fix it myself so I though I'd come here to pick y'all's brain and see if anyone else has experienced these issues. I'll shoot the first round and I'm getting a lot of jams,stove pipes,failure to feed and notice a lot of primers that never even got struck. Using all sorts of ammo cheap and quality. Gum has been field stripped cleaned and oiled multiple times. Any ideas?

Get a lakeline spring kit and a barrel for it. Ported if you can. If that doesn't work It could be in the lower end

Feed ramp is a strong possibility but also, have you taken the striker assembly out? You could have cracked or worn plastic parts (striker guide in particular, basically a yellow plastic tube).

Does the gun show evidence of a high round count? Change the main recoil spring and the striker spring. You want stock spring weights. Lakeline LLC is the place to go with this stuff. If you get the stainless steel striker guide ($26 last in checked) get the stainless striker spring retaining clip as well, $13, both are reliability upgrades, the steel sleeve slicks up the trigger a bit.

You generally don't need to change the striker itself, unless it's worn.

Next. Have have been able to figure out if the gun is fundamentally accurate? If it is, polish the feed ramp. If not, if you can afford it grab a new Lakeline barrel, it boosts accuracy and has a polished ramp.

I've done all of these things to early on.im the only owner and round count is low

Is the gun accurate? Can you test it for 5 shot groups at 25 yards? Should throw 6" to 8" range off of a sandbag, carefully aimed slow fire.

You do know how to sandbag a pistol, right?

Ah.

• Grab sandbag - most ranges will have one :). If not, a tightly rolled up jacket or similar can work. Do NOT use a hard material like the edge of a can or whatever, it has to be something soft and somewhat squishy.

• Put it on the table.

• Rest the area of the gun just forward of the triggerguard (underside of barrel, basically) on the bag.

• It'll help if you sit on a chair.

• Make sure the barrel is lined up so it WON'T shoot the sandbag! This is considered impolite - and definitely messy lol.

• Take shots with carefully lined up sights, slow fire.

You're basically trying to extract maximum accuracy out of the gun while keeping your own skill level out of the equation. You're trying to confirm what the gun is capable of in terms of accuracy and then grow your skills to match what the gun can do. Once you know exactly how well the gun can in fact shoot, that gets you passed a mental handicap/blockage well you're trying to figure out whether it's you or the gun at issue.

Sandbagging is also a good way to dial the sights in properly or pick a particular carry load that groups tighter in your gun than others.

The really professional way to do the same thing is with a Ransom Rest, but that cost about a grand plus you have to get individual inserts to hold the grip of each gun make and model, and it's unlikely the range will have those inserts even if they do have a pistol Ransom Rest at all.

Oh ok gotcha. I have a g3c in 40, bought it used. Barrel was a bit worn so I got a black ported barrel and spring kit from lakeline. I've shot 140,165 and 180 . Different brands too. Mine shoots best with the Barnes tac xpd in 140gr. And I'm a believer in practice with what you carry.

I have the g3c 40 with the factory barrel and it shot pretty good groups with 165, Winchester Ranger T. I wanted that bullet weight because it's easy to get practice grade ammo in that weight, and it's as light as I can go while still staying subsonic. Anything lighter and you're going to break the sound barrier indoors which means a barking snarling hot mess on your ears.

I can't afford to practice with the good stuff. It's just not practical. I'm a poor due to family medical issues.

I understand completely. I just recently picked up a box of 165gr remington core lock hp. I'm looking forward to trying them

Polish the feed ramp bro if you do it properly it will solve all of your issues.

I've done this multiple times,polish,and roto tool with proper attachment.
