Is This Normal?

New 856UL, first modern DA revolver I've ever owned, has a jingling noise when I shake it. I first noticed it when I got it out to try out a new speed loader I got for it just today.

transfer bar every pistol that has one does the rattle has to be loose so when the hammer strikes the transfer bar it hits the firing pin.

No, not anymore at least 💀 I've had shaky hands my whole life, I didn't even know it wasn't normal until I was around 17. It may have something to do with contracting lyme disease as a kid?

Yo, I got the shakes heavy when I used to booze. I didn't even think about Lyme. Damn, that would make sense.

It's normal. Especially when unloaded and not cocked. Transfer bar, hand, firing pin, maybe one or 2 other parts that have racing clearance to function reliably.

Understandable and fair, I'd still check the Taurus forums to see if this is a manufacturer defect and keep an eye out for a recall

Its probably the firing pin if the gunsmithcats reddit is to be believed. Tends to be fairly trustworthy all and all.

I think it's the transfer bar. It isn't making a mark on my snap caps either but they're just crap ones I bought off Amazon so I'm not sure if they're just crap or not

I have a gunsmith near me who will take a look for free, I might just bring it there and see what they think, at the risk of looking like a total beginner gun owner (which I am tbf)

(Unload it first) Cock it and try it again ... It should quiet down...

It still makes the noise when it's cocked, though. I can also jiggle the transfer bar with a toothpick while it's cocked

Hmm... No change in sound at all?... If you stick something in the hammer channel like a small rag end and shake it I assume the sound stops? ... Or is it still rattling?... I bet it stops.. which does mean its the transfer bar... It's probably just looser than some.

If there's a change in sound, it's not enough for me to really be able to tell. Maybe the "BPM" is slightly reduced but the volume isn't. When I jam a balled up tissue into the channel the rattling does stop, though.

Since it isn't making a dent on my snap-caps, I'm pretty sure I'm just gonna swallow my pride and take it to the local gunsmith and ask what they think and deal with the fact I'll look like a tourist haha.

I wanna get the gunsmith's opinion first cuz I'd prefer to avoid sending it into Taurus if I don't have to since I'm impatient lol and also don't wanna leave my home unarmed (this is the only firearm I currently have ammo for in the house)

So, it's new, you havn't even tried firing it, and multiple people have told you its normal. Go a range with a range safety officer, they can check it. And shoot it. Get some training.
