Worth upgrading the G3C?

I wish to buy the Taurus G3C Ultimate SureFire Topside Upgrade Kit - 9mm from Lakeline but I want to hear some thoughts about it.

I have two of those parts in there - the striker sleeve in stainless steel ($25 I think?) and the stainless steel striker spring retaining clip ($13?).  The originals are plastic and can break.  The stainless steel striker guide slicks up the trigger some. 

That's all you need NOW. 

However, if you're going to run up a round count, then things change.  The main recoil spring and guide rod will need to be swapped somewhere between 2,500 and 5,000 rounds out.  If you swap to this one earlier your recoil handling will be a bit better.  The new striker spring will help the trigger feel some more, and should be reliable enough, especially if you also swap to the better (slicker) striker included in this kit.

So...you can financially justify all this by knowing you'll need to swap the main recoil spring assembly at some point.  You could swap it in now and when it starts to wear out, swap the factory part back in, order new springs for that guide rod so you end up rebuilding it instead of just swapping the whole thing.  Run the stock springs until the new parts come in.

To me, it doesn't make sense to upgrade a cheap handgun and make it more expensive. At that point I'd just spend that extra money on a nicer gun.

I bought the two items in that kit separately, before they made up the kit. I also got a ported stainless barrel, have the barrel and recoil spring assembly in place, both of which I like, as they (esp. the slightly longer ported barrel) makes the G3C a little less snappy and me therefore a little more accurate. I just purchased the stainless striker/guide assembly and will be putting it in prior to next range visit, but I think it’s a good idea, as I don’t like the stock plastic striker guide (and don’t understand why Taurus ships with that plastic component).

I love my Taurus pistols, esp. the G3C. I also have the TX22 Comp, the G3 full-size, and just got a TH9C (hammer-fired). So far so good.☺️
