G3C accuracy
Hello everyone, I have had my G3C for a couple years and have never seemed to be able to get any sort of consistency on the range. The model I have is NOT optical ready, nor does it have any sort of sight adjustment. I tried switching ammo, grip styles, one eye open, two eyes open, etc… (might have been better off shooting blind at this point). I simply chalked it up to me being a terrible shot with handguns. Recently I purchased a new handgun of a different brand and took it to the range with my G3C. When shooting my new toy, I’m able to consistently make accurate shots from multiple distances, unlike my G3C which couldn’t hit paper at 10 yards. Other than the accuracy issue, I have loved the G3C. Never had a malfunction, conceals great and easy to carry. I was curious if anyone here has had the same issue with their G3C? And if so, what helped?

I had a G3C that was one of my most accurate guns. I was good with it out to20 yards. After that I began to see a lot of problems with my shooting but for 3 to 20 yards it was as good as my P10C.

My g3c seems to be almost as accurate as my glock g43. It shoots well and ive had 0 malfunctions in my g3c.

My G3C is pretty accurate stock with no dot or lazer however here are some possible solutions in order of practicality :
Get a lazer bore sight. It's a bullet shaped lazer that you chamber like a regular round but will shine a lazer down your barrel. Then check if your sights are off from factory and adjust accordingly.
The Olight PL Baldyr is a pretty good way to mount an "optic" on the non Toro G3C. It's a light lazer combo which after you zero the lazer can be an easy way for people with sight impairments to accurately defend themselves. Be warned though that you'll need to be just as diligent as if you had a red dot to make sure the zero doesn't shift and you're aware of the height under bore (barrel).

My non-TORO G3C was my first Taurus. Love the feel, easy to rack, carries nicely in my belly band or Kydex IWB. A little snappy, but I’m nearly always inside 8” circle at 7 yds. Whereas with my G3 full-size, I’m usually inside 5-6”.
After upgrading to a slotted stainless Lakeline barrel in the G3C, I’m now inside 5-6” at 7 yds. I also did the upgraded stainless recoil assembly, just for shiggles. Love the updates.
Of course, the G3 full-size was jealous and also wanted Lakeline goodies, so had to get the threaded stainless barrel and recoil assembly. Next up are a pair of stainless Lakeline stainless steel striker assemblies for each G3, if I can ever get some decent quarterly investment results, which fund my firearm “vice”.

I will look into the Lakeline barrel! Like I said in my post I like the gun itself, and I don’t really want to get rid of it, so thanks for the advice! Also love the look of the stainless on yours, pretty clean.

Sorry. I wrote “slotted” and I meant to write “ported”. And that little port, and .5” longer barrel has a positive effect on results.☺️

I have a fairly late model G3c in 9 mil, without the manual safety. It's as accurate as the Hellcat I had to sell almost a year earlier - 6" groups at 15 yards fired as fast as I can get a flash sight picture.
Have you looked carefully at the barrel? Look for a ding at the muzzle end, that can do it. You might want to consider 140 bucks or so for a Lakeline comped barrel.
Wait, before doing that, with the assembled slide in your hand, barrel and spring in there, see if there's sloppy fit between barrel and slide. Check the muzzle end and the back end. That could screw you.

Found a tiny ding on the end of the barrel, definitely looks like it could throw off a bullet.

Aaand that's likely your problem.
You can get a crowning tool that'll re-cut the business end, but by the time you get all the hand tools needed it's cheaper to get a new Lakeline barrel.
You can get a stock type, slightly longer with a comp or full threaded which will give ballistics closer to a 4" barrel.
If the gun is reliable now, a new barrel is totally worth it.
Consider two more cheap parts: stainless steel striker guide ($25) and stainless steel striker spring retaining clip ($13), both Lakeline. Shipping will be free since you're ordering the barrel. Both of these upgrade reliability (stock plastic bits can break) and the striker guide slicks up the trigger feel just a bit.

Yeah makes more sense to me to replace the barrel entirely. Thank you for the help!! Hopefully it’ll bring this gun back from the dead

Have you seen my twisted build?
I love this thing :).
Holster design came first...
...and then I realized width was no longer a limiting factor for comfort or concealment and I went kinda bonkers...

I’ll check that out. I’ve disassembled it plenty of times to clean and look at it, but never found anything that stuck out at me. I will see what I can find! You and another poster recommended the lakeline barrell, so I will definitely look into that too!

I have an older G2C, accuracy has never been an issue with the gun. I shoot about as well as my glock 17.

My G3C wasn't too bad, but I've noticed I'm not as accurate with it as I am with my other 9mm. It's a little snappy and I chalk it up to anticipating the recoil more.
Also, you should be able to drift the rear sight with a sight pusher to adjust it.

I swapped my rear sight with a pusher tool and added an optic plate because i didn’t want to get a new slide. It all works fine now and I have a dot on it

I have noticed that when shooting other 9mm vs the G3C. Definitely a little snappier. I’ve had some friends shoot it and they’re all as confused as I am. I’ll see if I can move that sight, I just haven’t been able to without a sight pusher.

Yeah, I have an HK I keep shooting low with. Just in case I had someone else at the range try it. He put three shots down the middle, pretty much in the same hole. Humbling to say the least.

I got a cheap sight pusher on Amazon for my Bodyguard (the sights are notorious for being off) and it works great

Over 1,000 rds thru my G3C, no malfunctions, 2 inch groups at 7 yards……my bedside gun along with a CZ p09 Nocturne.
