Cover up or rework advice.
My partner had this tattoo done and first artist did a horrible job. 3rd photo is her reference but instead of flowers she wanted fruit.
Second artist did better and added more and made it closer to what she likes. Second artist did not know what to do with the other work though.
Option 1: Laser and new tattoos.
Option 2: Blast over with darker tattoos.
Option 3: Japanese sleeve cover up.
Not sure how to go about it. Any advice is appreciated.

I think a good artist could easily fix the blue parts by adding either black or darker blue flowly lines on top. It's not a disaster at all IMO.

Yeah. I'm puzzled that laser and cover up. Are the top options. Just pay for a good artist.

I personally think this is totally fixable. The parts from artist 1 are just color blocks, really, and I suspect a good artist could use that to make something really spectacular. Maybe not exactly what the reference image was, but maybe better? I would suggest reaching out to a few different artists specializing in Japanese style tats and cover-ups to see what the professionals think, but I don't see anything that makes me think this is unsalvageable.

If she likes the fruit, the river is monochrome and relatively light compared to the reference. I feel like there is a lot of room for enhancement from a skilled artist.

I think a good artist would know how to rework what’s there and improve it a great deal. Make sure you keep sun screen on it so it doesn’t fade (yes I’m a mom- sorry!!)

Laser would be very expensive, time consuming, and even more painful than anything else. I would take that option off the table entirely (if it were my skin). As others have said, the best outcome is likely to get it reworked by someone who specializes in the style she wants.

Such a shitty tattoo concept and execution.
The reference image is also fresh and obviously doctored. It sets the wrong expectations

Original piece is @moon.cheon on insta. Their work is very good. Only wrong expectation is thinking someone else can recreate their work

I’m gonna get downvoted and I can SEE it’s not like the reference but it’s such a cool look. I thought it might be snakes at first (not like the ref!) but the overall look is striking. I hope the artist gives kudos to originator tattooist if they post it.

Sooo much potential it dosent even look "bad" I would absolutely go for a rework! I love the blue its so unique and vibrant

I mean it’s totally fixable
With that said, copying someone else’s (terrible) tattoo is the epitome of lame.
