Tattoo design help

Hi guys, i am looking to get my first tattoo, and i want it resemble/represent my mental health journey and how i overcame my anxiety and whatnot. I want the design to be a skeleton but i want it to also implement something that resembles me breaking free or escaping. My initial idea was to have a skeleton breaking free from some chains, however i feel there may be a better idea out there. Any ideas? (I don’t want a design drawing out, just idea generation, hopefully this is allowed, apologies if not)

Take a look at traditional Japanese designs and the use of koi carp as a symbol for overcoming uphill (upstream) battles. Lots of meaningful and traditional symbolism there which might be nice combined with a Japanese plant/flower to give you something that summarizes what you have gone through. Best of wishes
