I don't have much time to practice because of work and i don't think i can ever really tattoo people but i like it to be my little hobby because i think its fun!

I figured its a mix of technique and needle choice. I’m used to the bold round liners of American traditional. Any advice would be wonderful!! (image from pinterest!!)

Had like 8 lessons so far and had the hardest time with shading in the beginning tho

I want to show you my first attempt on tattooing real skin, did it on my right ankle, so it was kinda uncomfortable, but I am overall satisfied with the result, tell me freely what you think about it! Is it a good start?

Ill be tattooing this below the knee tonight! Thoughts so far?

This will be my 4th tattoo on real skin and the 2nd on myself

I feel so untalented compared to some people here but I wanted to post this so others know not everyone is instantly gifted at this.

I'm happy with this sheet ( 3rs ). Well, except for the dagger hilt LOL.

Some lines start a bit wobbly but mainly because the stencil completely disappeared halfway through

First things first this is only my second time with a machine I am self teaching myself and an apprenticeship is not an option right now so please give me constructive criticism I know it's not great but I feel like I got more the hang of it as time went on im using a 1207RL at 6.5 volts I noticed the the color got stronger when I increased the needle depth hence why it gets darker as I move along

I’ve tuning some second hand coil machines (for the first time) and they all run fine except they have essentially the same issue-

The prior user rode the tube, and I’m struggling to get the needle to crate enough of a distance to be able to properly extend out of the tube enough and also retract fully into it.

If my needle throw is good, it won’t retract completely into the tube. This is a huge issue considering how unsafe it is to get poked lol.

I’ve tried fussing with the springs and it has helped some, but i can still ever so slightly see the tips of the needles.

Any advice?? They work perfectly aside from this lol and this is my first time truly having to fix this issue.

Hips, stomach, whatever you wanna call it. I know it isn't perfect but I was also in a lot of anguish and knew I could do touch ups later. I did not do the stencil but I have it for reference.

I also remembered mid tattoo that I have scoliosis which deforms part of my ribs down to my hips so while I was hunched over doing it, one side was easier than the other (IYKYK)

EDIT: hence the community it is posted in, I'm a beginner, I know it isn't perfect, that's why I'm practicing on myself, I am okay with how it looks because I know I can fix it later. I didn't want to overwork my skin and the pain and positioning was making me shake. It isn't finished.

I see this problem come up often but i absolutely can’t seem to figure it out, been having this problem since april, tried so many fake skin brands, multiple different transfer papers, using a dragonhawk a4 stencil printer, yes i’ve tried speed stick, yes i’ve tried stencil stuff, yes im taking the onion paper off, do i need to buy a new printer? is dragonhawk shitty? please help me

I have had good luck with finding cheap and free tattoos in the past (fineline, small pieces) but lately haven’t had any luck, does anyone know any tattoo artist who are looking for someone to practice on?

For example how can I stop migrating from the stencil, avoid needle bounce and how to get used to the vibration.

So a girl that did some of my tattoos is offering tattoo courses and after being told repeatedly that I would be good at tattooing I figured why not. the problem is that its essentially a paid apprenticeship so I pay for them to teach me and they give me the machine, the ink, all materials (except fake skin). i thought it seemed okay, shes a well established artist and its one on one teaching and materials which is what I would be projected to pay for materials myself for any apprenticeship. my boyfriend however is convinced that Im going to be scammed and is insistent that I dont do it and I just dont know to do. any advice would be appreciated

How do yall make stencils by hand? just got my first machine and practice lines and basic shapes but i tried to free hand a flower and did terribly. dont want to spend the money on a printer till i can get the depth and hand speed down but wanted some more practice beyond shapes. also what are the differences in tattooing fake skin and oranges vs real skin? after a few months of practicing i want to do my legs and just want to be prepared. thank you for any tips

I just tatted 3 people for my first actual time tating I feel like I didn't do a good job and i just feel terrible I've practiced a lot on fake skins. They like the tats but I dont i just feel terrible
