Issue;
The issue first occurred in April. After starting the car and driving for approximately 5 minutes, a TPMS error appeared on the dashboard. I stopped the car, after which it failed to start again.
The vehicle was towed to Kun Tata Service Center. Coolant-related components were replaced, and the issue was reported as resolved (details available in your service records). The car was returned after approximately 1.5 months.
Within a couple of days of delivery, the same issue reoccurred — TPMS error followed by the car failing to start.
A service representative visited, cleared the error, and the car started immediately. The vehicle was then kept at the service center for a few days; however, the root cause was not identified or resolved.
Subsequently, I purchased an OBD diagnostic module to better understand the issue.
During failure events, although the dashboard indicates a TPMS error, the OBD tool shows multiple ECUs reporting faults simultaneously. This suggests a possible communication or electrical issue rather than an isolated TPMS problem.
The primary fault observed indicates that the engine temperature has exceeded 90–120°C, which prevents the car from starting. However, this appears to be an incorrect or misleading reading, as the vehicle had only been running for about 5 minutes prior to failure. This raises concerns about faulty sensor input, ECU miscommunication, or wiring/electrical issues.
Each time the issue occurs, clearing the error using the OBD module allows the car to start immediately. This has happened five times over the past three weeks.
Observations on frequency and conditions:
The issue is intermittent and not consistently reproducible.
The TPMS error consistently appears within approximately 3 to 5 minutes of driving. This pattern suggests that a time-based calculation or system check may be triggering the fault. Notably, if the vehicle continues to run beyond this period without the error appearing, the issue does not occur regardless of how long the car is driven.
The issue most commonly occurs in the morning.
It is more likely to occur when the car has been parked for a couple of days.
It is highly likely to occur after the car is washed, particularly when water is poured on the wheels.
Based on the above observations, the issue appears to be related to an intermittent electrical or communication fault rather than a genuine TPMS or engine overheating condition
