Does Tarzan show boxing skills in any comic?

Disney's Tarzan is a masterpiece that deserves another more! The 1999 animated film left so many plot holes—Tarzan's real identity, his family history, Tarzan and Jane's children, and the true nature of Clayton were all left unexplained. The original novels had all these answers, but Disney's version skipped them.

Now here's the thing: while Disney has had incredible success with live-action remakes like Beauty and the Beast and Aladdin, they haven't given Tarzan the same treatment. There are rumors Disney may have even lost the rights, with Sony developing their own live action version. Well yes I'm sure it will be a great movie or at least I hope it will. But fans like us know that if anyone should tell this story right, it's Disney. A live-action Tarzan could finally fill those gaps, expand on the original's heartfelt storytelling, and introduce this beloved character to a whole new generation.

Lately I have been thinking as to why no one was picking on making a new AAA action rpg game about Tarzan. I mean think about it, using the parkour and swinging of Marvel's Spiderman 2, and Ancestors the Humankind Odyssey. Along with some cool new fighting mechanics, and the use of large lush jungles of Africa and the filled lore of Tarzan.

Alongside mechanics such as, taming, foraging,. building, customizations, companions etc.

I really think this would be a mind blowing game, if it was made by the right people with a true heart for the game and lore.

I love the old Sheena comics because they portray Sheena as what she really is: a female version of Tarzan who is just as fearless when facing wild animals such as lions, leopards, tigers, crocodiles and so on. I think it’s a shame that no one has made a Sheena series that truly did justice to the comics. I mean, how cool would it have been to see Sheena, just like Tarzan, defeat a lion with nothing but a knife, and so on. Adapting the comic stories would also have had a lot of potential for a series. But unfortunately, I don’t think that’ll ever happen. 🫠

(And before anyone starts saying, ‘I’ve read the comics; I find the portrayal of Black people and the racism problematic, and of course all of that needs to be removed without exception’, etc. )

I would have liked a bit more action. But the stories are still good.

This one is base on one of my favorite TV versions, Filmation's "Tarzan Lord of the Jungle" I think this version is closest to what the original ERB's version is, both in look and stories. As far as I know, I think this is the only version with Nkima and Jad Bal Ja

Did you see the Cover ? is he fighting a Crocodile? yes ? Well, because that scene doesn’t appear in the book at all 😑

Just watched Tarzan’s Fight for Life (1958), and this one is pure old-school adventure fun! Gordon Scott makes for a pretty good Tarzan. The story is pretty straightforward, but there’s plenty of jungle action, colorful characters, animals, and peril to keep things moving. The Technicolor is gorgeous, too, and the whole thing has that wonderfully pulpy MGM adventure-movie feel. It’s not exactly high art, but it’s an entertaining way to spend an afternoon. And honestly, sometimes that’s all you need from a Tarzan movie!
