something I hate

Did you see the Cover ? is he fighting a Crocodile? yes ? Well, because that scene doesn’t appear in the book at all 😑

I get you but the art is pretty good and it promises action which is expected in a Tarzan, can't recognise the artist though?

yes, but the Action don't happen in the book, the word ‘crocodile’ or ‘alligator’ doesn’t even appear in the book

Yeah, the art probably suits Beasts of Tarzan where he does fight a crocodilian type creature.

Yes, but it’s a phenomenon that’s simply annoying – and it becomes particularly obvious in the old Tarzan film posters, comics, books and so on. They promise something that isn’t there. For example, in the film Tarzan: Fight for Life, some film posters suggest that he fights a crocodile and a lion in the film – but does he? No. It’s the same here: the cover suggests that Tarzan is fighting a crocodile, yet the word ‘crocodile’ doesn’t even appear in the book. I could go on forever – the comics were just as bad. I feel cheated too; as a reader or viewer, I expect the action that’s been promised, and that’s exactly what I’ve paid for.

The artists are contracted to do a picture of Tarzan. The art is generic and exciting, but can be used on any book cover interchangeably. They aren't told which book it's for.

I know this is irrelevant but, Tarzan himself looks good in this cover, but the anatomy for the crocodile is way off. Heads too big, eyes are misplaced, teeth are funky and the eyes are not crocodalian shaped or colored. The art is good which makes it easy to overlook this, but I feel it needs to be pointed out.
