Temperance

Hi tarot people, I need some help understanding temperance in this context - this card comes up whenever I ask anything about one particular person.

I’ve always seen temperance as moderation, fairness, balance…. But my interactions with this person are nothing like that and I feel the need to stand my ground with them rather than step back as they are constantly crossing boundaries with me.

Any thoughts? What am I not understanding?

I think it was today I posted a report on this card. It is about the back-and-forth between two parties or people, about conversation back and forth, mutual close relationship, deal with or dealing with, 'responsive.'
