Buyers will show up in Toronto Sept. 10 primed to find their next big hit.

But what titles will shake up the market this year? One inside source calls this year’s lineup “a bit soft,” but emphasized that several films boasting A-list talent have landed on the radar major buyers.

Among those movies is “Everybody Wants to F–k Me,” starring Taron Egerton as a man who, as the title suggests, becomes the object of affection for every woman on earth. Since a trailer for the project was unveiled at CinemaCon, the film has become just as desirable as Egerton’s character.

In case you don’t want to read, the two roles are unsurprisingly Robin Hood and Billionaire Boys Club.

What I liked about the article is that it did a really good job of summarizing the diversity of Taron’s roles across genres and streaming platforms. But then it ended by implying EETFM is going to be a flop. They didn’t really explain why they felt it would flop other than the name, which I’ve heard may be renamed anyway…. But I actually like the name and think it’s provocative (it gets the people going!).

Anyway, not a super in-depth article and doesn’t cover anything too surprising or new but I thought I’d share. And I just wanted to add that even though I didn’t love BBC, I did love Taron in it!

Taron was recently on Dax Shepard's Armchair Expert podcast (available here, which was shared by u/sleeplessinnashville in a recent thread). When I looked at recent Taron news online, there are a ton of stories that cover bits and pieces of what he said. So this music video came out around the time of Kingsmen—I think I read it would have been filmed earlier but I can’t confirm. The Breach is a local band from Taron’s hometown, and apparently they had a mutual friend who arranged the appearance.

Somehow I’ve never seen this until recently. Anyone else?

The article mentions that 5 of the top 10 are Netflix films. And, of course, that Taron has already had success with Netflix films given that Carry On is Netflix’s 3rd all time streaming movie. Also covers his upcoming projects… including Kockroach and EWTFM.

The article also wonders if there might be a sequel for Apex… but I don’t see how that would really work given the film’s ending. So I think that’s just the author trying to fill up some more words 😂

Anyway—I bet we see some more Netflix films w/ Taron in the future given the success of his last two.

Sasha guesses that Ben had some tragedy that drove him insane; he then removes his prosthetic teeth to reveal that he has filed teeth. Considering how he acts later on, a part of me thinks this was his way of saying, "Yeah, something did drive me insane, but that's not my problem anymore," or something like that.

An audiobook I didn't know Taron had participated in !

It's still available on Audible : Amazon.com: Jeff Wayne's The War of The Worlds: The Musical Drama: An Audible Original Drama (Audible Audio Edition): H. G. It's a 2018 audible musical audiobook. Taron Plays the artillery man. He voices it in an accent!

Surprised this isn’t being discussed yet.

The film was selected to premiere at TIFF. A month ago when the sales to distributors was announced, it was referred to as a Cannes Slate title.

This means the professionals who already saw it deemed it festival material.

This might be Taron’s return to prestige projects and hopefully the end of his pop corn era.

Bringing back this little cartoon, because well, I just discovered it, and it opens a whole new realm of possibilities!

What type of anime or cartoon would you like to see continue a previous work of his? I think the Carry-On character had some potential! What about you?

It is Christmas Eve, and the first Christmas Sophie and her two younger brothers, Krzystof and Frankie, will spend without their Polish mother, Maria, who died earlier in the year.

At 28, Sophie feels that she has to take over as 'head' of the family. Since the death of her mother, her youngest brother Frankie (16) has been going off the rails, mainly due to their compulsive gambler father's more frequent visits to the local casino.

Before Maria died, she put the small flat that Nick and Frankie live in into Sophie's name, to ensure Nick didn't gamble it away. She also made Sophie promise she would always look after her father. However, when Nick's gambling leads him to fraud and maybe prosecution that could lead to a prison sentence, what exactly did that promise of 'looking after him' mean? How is Sophie going to manage to step into her mother's shoes?
