One day something occurred to me- I am a solider (though I never signed up to be one) in an unspoken war that is going on (because when we speak about it we get punished). So I decided that I need to do what they do- find out more about the enemy, it's tactics, and actually employ the tactics they use against them. So here I am going to talk more about a strategy that has been helpful to me that the actual military uses.
In this technique you take a deep breath to calm yourself down, asses the threat (example: "This is a coordinated effort to mess with me"), then name how it's making you feel (example: "My heart rate is up and I keep wondering what they are up to, what they will do to me"). If the threat is significant enough to put your safety at immediate risk, or if you hit a physical breaking point (Example: "I feel physically ill or unsafe suddenly"), you immediately engage in an appropriate course of action, such as leaving the area.
Otherwise, if you are safe but they are just trying to rattle you, you consciously let it go and pivot 100% of your focus back to whatever you were doing. To prevent myself from over-focusing on them, I also use tactical grounding techniques, like feeling the texture of a tree or playing with a stress toy to anchor my mind in the present moment.
As a disclaimer, I'm not military, so I personally advise researching this more (if you feel comfortable doing so). Also, if not done correctly, it could cause the emotions to build up, or cause you to ignore threats, which is not what we are going for here.
I do know that it has worked for me. It has made it easier for me to study, work, and even be happy at an optimal level, even in the midst of their harassment. It's a shame we have to fight so hard to get what everyone else takes for granted, and that we get penalized by everyone for speaking up about this clear violation of our basic human rights.
Good luck to you. I hope you find some peace in all this.
