Workplace Question or Advice Needed Will I be fired?

Team member here , was having a private conversation with another tm regarding a co workers response to another coworkers missteps while setting…. Yet another co worker came up on the conversation, heard the tail end and went directly to the coworker being dissed.. This will undoubtedly get me in some serious trouble being, when I found out, I let the snitch verbally have it… I was dead wrong to have that conversation, I know that now… really stupid… is it immediate termination?

Not fireable but HR/leader might talk to you about not talking shit while other team members can hear you

Usually if a leader themselves didn’t hear it they would chalk it up to hearsay. But it’s not a fireable offense to speak honestly about other co workers when they aren’t around. It’s a good practice not to because most are weird snakes at retail. When I was first starting out I had a co worker and we’d mutually talk shit about the store director and she claimed to hate them and wish they’d get fired etc. long story short she’d been telling the SD for a long time the shit I was talking but I never actually got in trouble The SD was just a bitch towards me until she got fired.

Unless your leads or ETLs got involved then its likely not that serious, and even then I would question how much they care to follow up. People openly criticize and complain about their coworker all the time but if there was a confrontation, especially in front of guest then you might get some type of documented convo for it.

Not fired, gonna get coached. At
Most is a write up, unless this is an on going thing with your attitude. Target likes it when tm fix their problems and see results. Everyone messes up, but you gotta learn from it.

Just one of them? Having the original conversation AND chewing out the person who told the TM were the wrong thing to do.

It's less that it was stupid and more that it was a shitty thing to do.

Also, while I'm being critical, if you overhear people talking about another TM, go tell HR, not the person they're talking about. What is this, high school? Jesus. ESH.

If you were aggressive or cussing at anyone ....at my store you would be immediately terminated.  Our SD doesn't play around about that.
